Writing Preferences: I am a jack of all trades, though I'd like to consider myself a bit of a master in certain areas. I've been roleplaying on YWS since I joined, and that's definitely where my concentration on the website has been. On my personal side of writing, I've dabbled in poetry, novel-writing, short stories, prose, and most recently, playwriting! I'm really up for trying anything that I find appealing, and I'm always determined to get better at whatever I'm doing and develop my writing skills in whatever area I'm working in at the moment.
General Information: I joined YWS May 29, 2019, and am, as of writing this, currently approaching my third year on the site! I've spent the majority of my time on the site in the roleplaying tab, writing in various storybooks, and I am known by those who frequent the area to dive into any and every storybook without regards to personal time management or the amount of homework I push to the side to write in them.
I became a Junior Moderator on June 13, 2021, and am currently approaching a year in that position, which is incredibly wild because it feels both longer and shorter than that.
My dream job would be being a professional author, and I write all my works with the expectation and intention of bettering all of them enough to become publishable at some point. I'm completely obsessed with all of my characters, but the one most near and dear to my heart is Malik, who is-- I believe-- the first character I ever created to join a storybook on YWS. I've roleplayed with him every day for almost three years, and a lot of his traits and habits have rubbed off on me in that time.
I'm starting off my time at Squills with a series on the basics of roleplaying, which I'm hoping will help to entice some new people into the roleplaying sections of the website (>.> I'm looking at you-- yes, you!), as well as just make everyone more comfortable with everything! I'm hoping for this series to involve some interviews with experienced roleplayers and some tips and tricks to help get your feet under you for when you first begin roleplaying.
And really, that's all! If you have any suggestions for articles or topics that you'd like me to cover, questions you'd like to ask, or comments you'd like to leave, feel free to leave a comment here or PM me so we can chat further on it! For now:
