Pop Culture Corner: I Love Lucy

6 posts in this topic.

  1. It occurred to me that there are probably more opinions out there about "I Love Lucy" than most of the other shows on my list of upcoming articles.
And the easiest way to find out those opinions is to just ask. So here I am with a sort of crappy intro. Here's the question then.

What do you think of the show "I Love Lucy"?
  2. I love the show, I own all the seasons.
I personally think the show went a little down hill
when they started the Lucy - Desi Comedy Hour.
They started getting repetitive and the jokes became unoriginal, they could have easily stopped at season 6. I do like how they ventured from the usual home surroundings in the 4th season when they went to Hollywood, and again in the 5th season when they traveled to Europe.
I've noticed that the I Love Lucy show relies more on physical comedy than the other sitcoms made around that time, such as the Adventures of Ozzy and Harriet or the Dick Van Dyke Show.

All and all I love the show, it's accompanied me through every cold and illness. Its been watching it since I was 9, and I don't intend on stopping any time soon.
  3. Who doesn't love Lucy? My sister especially has always been a huuuge fan, so through her I've enjoyed the episodes for years. I agree with snow that Lucy's a wonderful accompaniment to sicknesses!
  4. It's great.
  5. ^^
  6. Just a few days left to fill this up or I'll have to improvise and actually write down my opinions for a few pages.
    Can't have that happening.

It is most unlikely. But - here comes the big "but" - not impossible.
