  2. name: Ferran or ferry
    age: 16

what you write: Poetry (free verse)is the main thing I post on YWS. I also write Science fiction, fantasy, essays and philosophic meanderings.

what you review: Pretty much anything; I’m happy to follow the chapters of your novel, critique poems, look at essays and short stories. I will do fan fiction if it is some thing I have watched/read or if it stands alone.

what you read: I like reading YA fiction, but recently I’ve been delving into the Sifi classics, like Brave New World. I have also been known to read the Australian Constitution and Math text books for fun. :D My favourite (published) authors are; Terry Pratchett, Diana Whynne Jones, Janet Edwards and Brian Selznic.

your "specialty": I like to think I’m pretty well rounded, however looking through my reviews, it seems I specialise in reviewing chapters. My reviewing ‘style’ tends to focus on each paragraph separately and include thoughts on the whole chapter, at the beginning or end. I try to make my reviews as balanced as possible, by pointing out brilliant parts, as well as those which can be improved. I always attempt to tell you why or provide ways of fixing it. I review on grammar if it is the only thing stopping it from being perfect. Otherwise I look out for; plot and character development, POV consistency, flow, action/description balance, natural dialog and telling/showing examples. All of this tends to make for fairly long reviews.

times you are online: I’m in Australia where we are 10 hours ahead of Eastern Standard Time. I can be on a wide range of times, but try to stay off from midnight till seven am, my time (So I get some sleep). :smt015

    5. December last year I finished a diploma in chemistry and forensics.
    6. My favourite food is raspberry cheese cake.

anything you'd prefer not to read: I tend to stay clear of; stories where the main story line is a romance and love poems.

Looking forward to seeing you around.
  3. name: Holy, Socks, Holysocks, HollyHocks- I'm not real picky!

    age: 18

what you write: I write just about anything. I prefer prose but find myself writing a bit of poetry here and there. I really like horror and fantasy, and anything odd, really.

what you review: Anything! Though mainly novel chapters.

what you read: Fantasy and anything I suppose. My favourite author is Jessica Day George because her works are so easy to read, I just pick a book by her up and never put it down.

your "speciality": I'm not sure. People often say they like my characters... so perhaps character development...? I want to say I'm doing better at imagery lately but that's what I've been working on so I highly doubt it's my speciality! :P

  4. name: Pretzel, Pretz
    age: 14 and 1/2

what you write: I generally write short stories, I guess because they don't require that much commitments at all, and I think that they are kind of like experimental prose to me at least. I also occasionally dabble in poetry, as I have done NaPo and enjoyed the experience. I guess that you could say for me, writing poetry soothes my soul.
    what you review:
I'll mostly review everything that you throw at me, and I'll try my best to make it happen. My interests vary, and I can tolerate most genres, because I always am looking to read and experience a variety in literature.

what you read: (published works, not on YWS)
Fiction novels mostly. I am in avid reader who is always interested in listening/learning to new book reccomendations. My favorite type of books are narrative/sentimental prose because it touches me in the "feels" the most and that's why I think that I will enjoy them the most!

your "specialty":[/b Hmm, getting the stuff out on paper, no matter how bizzare or rough my ideas are. My motivation comes very rarely, but I'm always up to play with Word Wars, I'm a fairly fast typer, if I may say so myself.

    [b]what times you are online:
(EST time) Basically all day every day. Most of the day anyways, in and out. During the school-day, I check in several times on my mobile iPhone, but I have chat disabled there because it's buggy. I'm also usually invisible on the chatbar, but I prefer it that way because I get much more YWS "work" done and concentrate better.

    five random things about yourself:
    1. I walk around wearing clear glasses, because I'm just a nerd at heart.
    2. I listen to podcasts every single day of my life, and I have a long list of them that I could reccomend to you in a heartbeat.
    3. Some people have said: "you're the nicest person that I know" but I don't really know how to receive compliments that well, so I usually just send an emoji.
    4. I have a minor obssesion with taking pictures of sunsets and daylists, but then again most of them are taken from my window via my phone, so it's not the best quality yet.
    5. I absolutely have to wear gloves at all times during the winter, because I hate when my hands get cold.

anything you'd prefer not to read:)
Nothing that is rated 16+ or 18+, although I occasionally do sometimes review such works for a friend or a competition, I tend to be very careful and getting more strict on the type of content that I am allowed to review (for myself.) Nothing that has more than 5 quality good reviews, I just don't want to repeat previous wise point made.

I can rant for hours about Star Wars or any other general fandoms. So. Relate at least one fandom with me and we'll be friends! XD

Anything you'd prefer not to read: I can get through pretty much everything. Gore? lol written a bit of that myself! Sex Scenes? I prefer not to, but if it's vague enough I'm fine with it. Cussing? Fine with that. Just don't make me read an essay or a rough draft of a Math Book and I'll be fine!
  7. name: Mea, Meandbooks, Books, whatever.
    age: Almost 16

what you write: Umm...I write both prose and poetry. So far, my prose has mostly been sci-fi and fantasy, but I'm hoping to do some historical fiction soon.

what you review: Pretty much anything. My strengths are short stories and poetry. I don't like reviewing things that have a lot of swearing or graphic scenes, though.

what you read: Mostly sci-fi and fantasy, though I'll read pretty much anything if it's good. I tend to not like romance as much, though. Quick list of favorites: Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, anything by Brandon Sanderson, and Ender's Game.

your "specialty": Hmm...for prose, it's the overall things. I comment on your characters, structure, and anything that feels like it's inconsistent or confusing. For poetry, I tend to go more line-by-line and point out places where it didn't flow very well.

    2. I like touching trees.
    3. My friend wrote me a Pacific Rim fanfic where Newt and Herman adopt the baby kaiju that dies toward the end, because when I was watching I thought it imprinted on Newt. But no, it was just dead. So in the fanfic it does imprint on him because he's the first thing it sees.
    4. Good Omens is dangerously close to being my favorite book, although I cannot definitively choose a favorite.
    5. You should definitely listen to this because I am on a kick for this song right now and I have to listen to it every time I'm in my friend's car.

    age: Teen

what you write: Poetry, short stories, scripts, and novels. Primarily fantasy and sci-fi, but sometimes I lie to branch out.

what you read: Fantasy and sci-fi. Recently I've been exploring other genres as well.

your "specialty": Uhhh... this is kinda tough... I guess maybe outlining? This isn't really something I think about a lot. lol

what times you are online: For me it really varies a lot. Due to this me and any future mentees will probably converse through PMs most of the time. So that we don't need to be on at the same time.

  12. name: Lizzy, Liz, Elizabeth

what you write: I write in a lot of different genres and formats but mostly poetry and novel chapters. My genre is almost always humor and then something else.
what you review: I review pretty much anything that I find in the Green Room but I prefer poems and short stories. I don't like trying to jump into a novel halfway through with no knowledge of the characters or plot.

what you read: For fiction I mostly read mystery (Ellery Queen, Scarpetta, etc.) and horror (The Complete Works of Alfred Hitchcock, Works of Rod Serling, etc.). I do read quite a few nonfictions most of which are about the Civil War and World Wars.

your "specialty": My specialty changes from work to work but in chapters I usually like to stick to the plot development. Like how the current events are going to effect the next chapter. In poetry I comment a lot on the rhyming, flow of the verse, and appearance. In every work I go very in depth on how the author should grab the reader's attention and how effective their current version is. (The title, description, first line are what I consider to be the first impression.

    what times you are online:
I'm in the US Central Time Zone. I check in the morning about 8-8:30 for any notifications and several times throughout the day. After 5 here I'm on for a couple of hours, mostly to 8 or 9.

    4. I may bore you too death with my discussions of all of the fandoms I belong to.
    5. I almost never wrote poetry before joining the site because I felt practicing on my clarinet was more important.

anything you'd prefer not to read: Extremely graphic anything, especially not romance. I won't touch anything about a 16+ rating because well I'm only 15. Besides that I don't care.

Be the annoying goose you want to see in the world.
