Hey, I just posted my first short story! It's the start to a series about the different types of love. A Warm Embrace features time travel, a Greek Godess and may even make you cry. I would appreciate any feedback if you give it a read!

alliyah This is a good thread for asking questions and I think you'll find this thread (the FAQ) answers some of those questions you have.
To Start a Story
To start a story click "Publishing Center" on the top ribbon, and then post a work through the literary center.
Each work costs 200 points.
Points can be earned by reviewing works (writing at least 5 complete sentences of feedback on other people's literary works).
Here's more info on reviewing.
Posting Blogs
You can post your own blog by clicking "Blogs" which is a tab on that green ribbon up above. Once you're in the blog section just click "Write a new entry" on the right and you should be good to go.
You can also use your profile wall as a personal blog which is what some people do.

Does anyone know of any good Historical Fiction literary agents I can contact? I'm trying to get published but my mom's making me use a literary agent and I don't really know where to start.

Uh, hello. I'm Kelisot, a new writer in the Young Writers Society (currently, loving so far, nice people with constructive criticism and a plethora of other people's stories), and I'm not exactly sure about managing drafts. When I save a draft, it never makes me manage my draft on my profile. Did I possibly do something wrong?

momonster Hey Anna! Yes, you can write stories here (hence the name, Young Writers Society), and it take 200 points to post something. Everyone starts with 200 points already, and you can get more by writing reviews! You can post your work by clicking the button at the top that says "Publishing Center", click the red button that says "Add a new work", put in the title and the work, hit the blue button, "Publish it!", say what kind of work it is, and publish it!

Hi! #newbie I AM NEW HERE AND WITH TWO QUESTIONS: Can somebody tell me how to quote someone's writing in a review. Like so it turns green and stuff. LOL Sorry I'm not being very specific. Also, are username changes permitted here? If so, how can I change my username?

It has a lot fun stuff you can use in your reviews and such. For your second question - I don't remember how to change your username, but I think you can ask one of the admins or something.

ChrisCalaid Yes, username change is permitted. You could ask @Magebird or @Alliya about the username change, they can change it for you.
If you want to quote someone's writing use [ quote ] plus slash before "q" to close up the quoting text, not space needed. Just copy the part you want to quote and put it in between the two quote signs.WEELLLLCCCOMMME!

alliyah If you go to the club tab up top, you should click that, then you'll see a blue bar on the right side of the screen that says "create club". Welcome to YWS! You also may find that this forum viewforum.php?f=323 is quicker for questions/answers about the site.

But the good news is that if you go to the forums the chatroom portion is still open (on right hand side of the screen) - so just not individual chat.
