women-we hope to find our way?

PreviousNext
WE HOPE TO FIND OUR WAY?

Do we hope to find our way?
from the grasp of despair
where we're told to stay put
and not go out anywhere?

where we're made to be housewives
our dreams mean not a thing
we pass all of our hopes and ambitions
to our off springs

do we need take the blame,
for why we gave birth to girls?
do we only bring shame to the family,
instead of contributing to the world?

will we always hope to find our way,
out of this backwards tradition,
or will we try to find it?
Our hopes should become our ambition.
our ambition should help us find our voice.
and our voices should be heard.

Hey, this poem is really good too; very inspiring. The title's a tad long and the last stanza doesn't really have as much flow as the rest of the poem, but other than that, nice job.
