I've never been on a camel,
I've never owned a nuclear weapon.
I don't own a bulletproof vest,
I don't bomb random communities.
Yes I pray five times a day,
no, I don't, support radical Islam.
Of course I Iove pizza,
no i'm not a big fan of hummus.
I'm aware that some of my people are terrorists,
but that does not define me or my people as a whole.
Yes I mourn for the victims of 9/11,
but hate the fact that because of that event im portrayed a terrorist.
yes i'm an arab american!

Hey,
I noticed quite a few mistakes throughout your poem. Even so, I found the message of your poem moving and extremely just. I think there are people out there who need to start listening to the voices of the young generation. We speak with heart and tremendous amount of truth. I applaud your ability to speak and stand up for what you believe in despite the bull-nonsense of stereotypical individuals.
This is really good. I understand how you feel and what you are saying in your poem. You are trying to give people a message saying to them. Hatred, stereotyping and things of that nature are idiotic.
all i have to say is more power to you!! i hate stereotyping, even thought i do do some myself, i don't like the fact that just because someone's muslim people say they're terrorists when they're not. or because of what color their skin is that they're less than everybody else. so more power to you and keep writing what you believe. WOO!!
Hi there.
I really like this.
I like it because you combined a really interesting and stereotype breaking opinion with genuinely good and well flowing poetry. I think this voice is one threat we don't hear about enough so it was really interesting to read about. The flow is also really good and the style is consistent. It also ended really nicely with a really punchy sentence. So good job, in conclusion
.
Awesome! I don't think all Arabs are terrorists at all...or that all Mayans think the world will end...or that all chinese people are evil communists! Your not alone in the fear that one act will have a ripple affect for a whole group of people.
This is a wonderful message, and its great that you still have enough faith to be proud of who you are! great job
I loved this!
That second comma in the sixth line did throw me off and I think you could omit it, but besides that I didn't see any typo's or errors.
Your message was great. What baffles me most is that the people who caused 9/11 aren't the first terrorists in the world ever. I mean Hitler was a white dude! I think there was an asian kid who shot a whole bunch of college students in Arizona or something. Crazy white people blow stuff up all the time. Crazy people are just crazy people, race, color, whatever doesn't matter. Crazy is as crazy does.
I just don't understand racism at all. I don't understand not liking someone because they are a different skin color, or gender, or sexual orientation, or religion, or whatever! It makes no sense. People are people and every person deserves love and kindness.
Anyway. Overall I only noticed the one mistake, I love your message and I wish the whole world could hear it.
Let me know if you ever need another review!

I am a white American of European descent and I try to preach this message to every person I know. Some of my best friends are Muslim and I hate the fact that some people portray them as terrorists simply due to their religion. People can be so ridiculously stupid; it's as if they never learned the lesson in kindergarten that the actions of a small group do not define an entire race. Hitler was German. That doesn't mean all Germans are antisemitic supremacists.
So in the end, even though the poem probably does need a little work, I applaud your message and wish more people (preferably the ones preaching the hate) would start to listen.
Totally agree with you. I am so against stereotyping, it really annoys me when people do it. For example, I'm Russian, and as soon as people know it they start stereotyping that I drink vodka and live along with bears, and I don't wear anything that isn't Dior or an expensive brand. It is so annoying. I have some Muslim friends, and they are completely opposite the popular beliefs of that religion, and they have told me that the Qu'ran (their holy book) respects tolerance of other races and religions, and promotes peaceful co-exsistence! So, terrorism comes from the people, not from their religion. And, that terrorist stereotype is useless.
Wise words. Keep writing.

Hello, I'm Jojo and I shall be your reviewer today!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This poem is cute. The idea is cute, and the concept it cute.
The execution.. not so much...
You have a LOT of typos and grammatical errors in here.
-Capitalization
-Punctuation
-Spelling
And it's really distracting. So distracting that the real truth behind the actual poem doesn't really matter anymore.
I think that this poem would have been a much more pleasant experience if you had smooth out the errors within it first, then we could have focused on the primary message- and we wouldn't be so distracted.
Overall: Cute idea, and I totally agree with your point, here. I just think that you need to work on the structure and sell your poem to us. Make it attractive. All of the issues make it distracting....
Other than that, nice job.
Keep writing!
I totally agree with you.You just wrote down what a lot of a us have been feeling lately.Not necessarily Arabs, but many others.Being a muslim doesn't automatically make a terrorist.So, thank you for posting this.It's really a nice poem.
Good Job
I am never going to get why most ppl think that all muslims are terrorist. Just 'cause some shitheads 'caused 9/11 they think that everyone of them are terrorists!!! Why? If they were christians they wouldn't have marked them as terrorists. They are sooooooooooooo racist!
I loved your poetry. I am an ex-muslim (I prefer having no religion). I am not arab but I am bangladeshi. And I hope that a lot of ppl will read this and I also hope that they'll understand the message.
And yes, pizza is amazing! :p
i totally agree with you. i have ridden a camel, lol, but i still think that it's wrong when people stereotype me because i'm arab. good poem. i liked it alot.
Great job describing American stereotypes. It's such a powerful topic and something that should be addressed. The only thing that I can point out is the punctuation while using contractions. Other than that, great work. This is a wonderful piece.
Oh I just love this! The message is definitely one I can relate to. Although I'm not in the least of Arab descent, I do know what it feels like to be discriminated against because of my skin.
I'm African but grew up in England and there was a lot of stereotypes I was placed in simply because I am mocha in colour. For example, if I had a hoodie on that day people would think I wanted to mug them. Or I'd get followed about in shops because they thought I was a thief.
It's a shame that many people in contemporary society still have such finite, bigot like states of mind. Yes, I definitely loved your poem. I felt it just wasn't for Arab Americans but also every person of colour that is discriminated against because of their skin. Every person tormented because of their religion.
However, there were a lot of errors in terms of grammar and punctuation. You seem to have forgotten the use of an apostrophe<-- did I spell that right? Lol.
Good job overall.
I really enjoyed this. Don't let people get you down rasism is so 1861.=D Just kidding. People like that are stupid. Be proud!
You made a small typo in the seventh line. But, this fact aside, I applaud you on the message you convey and the way you convey it. Take a stand against stereotyping.
Yours,
Pyro
