The Mouse

Tipedy toe
Went the mouse
Under the door
And into the house

Scurry, scurry
Down the hall
Went the mouse
Furry and small

In the kitchen
Bread and cheese
The mouse climbed the table
And ate what he pleased

Plump and full
The mouse sat down
Sniffed the air
And looked around

On the side
Next to the fridge
Sat a pie
That looked so good

The wonderful scent
Wafted through the air
To the mouse
Who sat just there

Getting to his paws
The mousy waddled
Over to the pie
That he soon gobbled

Big and fat
Became the mouse
Causing him trouble
Leaving the house.

Wonderful, wonderful work here. I love your light-hearted feeling! It's very sweet and charming. I like your format. I agree with MorningStar, that the fifth stanza is odd. I think it is the last line. You should change "Good" to something that rhymes better with your whole idea. Once again, You have a very very cute and happy little poem here.

Wonderful job!! I give you * * * * *.

Never stop writing!!

I adore this cute little poem! It's so light and fun. It's really refreshing.

The only problem I see with it is in the 5th stanza where you don't follow your rhyme scheme. It made me go back and read the stanza again to see if I missed something-- and you don't want that kind of a disconnect in your work.

You are going to love some of your characters because they are you, or some facet of you, and you are going to hate some characters for the same reason.
