Chapter 2- I'm there for you

Okay, this chapter will be in Austin's point of view, just to tell people ahead of time.

God, she's beautiful, I couldn't help but think as she ran in late to Physics, her blonde curls slightly messy and her perwinkle eyes wide.

"Sorry I'm late," she panted, taking her seat in front of me. "My locker jammed."

Mr. Marrison sighed. "Just don't let it happen again, Miss Webber."

Several guys snickered and I shot them a quick glare. Cricket sighed and tried to fix her curls before giving up and opening her book to the assignment.

"I look awful, don't I?" she whispered to her friend Abby as she scribbled down formulas.

Her friend giggled and nodded as Cricket's tinkly laugh floated through the air. I loved the way she laughed; how her nose scrunched up and her eyes twinkled as she giggled sweetly.

Mr. Marrison cleared his throat and looked sternly at the girls.

"Sorry, Mr. M," they muttered.

After a minute of silence, Abby leaned over to Cricket, asking for help.

"It's easy," Cricket said. "To find the distance, you need to simply divide the speed by the time."

"I still don't understand how to get the velocity though," Abby shrugged.

Are you kidding me? I thought. This stuff was so easy. I was already two problems away from finishing. But then again, if I was stuck Cricket would spend time helping me...

As soon as the thought entered my mind, I tapped Cricket on the shoulder, touching her soft curls in the process.

"Yeah Austin?" she asked, turning around.

"Ummm,... I was w-wondering...." her eyebrow went up and her face became skeptical. I cleared my throat. "I was wondering if you could help me with the problems. I don't really get them either."

She glanced down at my notebook. "But you've only got two problems left."

"But they're the hardest ones," I said, looking at her like it was obvious.

"Alright fine," she sighed, turning around in her chair.

I grinned and looked up to see Abby glaring at me. I smirked at her before focusing on my paper (and Cricket) again.

"Okay, so first you-" the rest of Cricket's response was drowned out by the bell.

"If you didn't finish this in class then it's homework," Mr. Marrison called as students grabbed their bags and flew out the door.

I saw Cricket and Abby dart out the door together and ran to catch up.

"Cricket, wait up!" I shouted in the crowd, looking over their heads to find hers. I made a beeline towards her as soon as I spotted her.

"Hey Cricket," I smiled. Abby glared at me before turning and walking away.

"Oh, er, hi Austin. Sorry I didn't teach you those formulas," Cricket said, walking briskly.

I shrugged. "It's okay. I'll figure them out later. Listen, I've gotta go, but I'll see you at lunch tomorrow, okay?"

"Sure."

I pulled her close into a hug and buried my face in her hair. It smelled delicious, like raspberries. I sighed as I pulled away, not really wanting to let go. She just nodded and headed to her 6th hour, probably worried about being late.

I was practically skipping down the hall as I walked to class, feeling like I was on top of the world, picturing Cricket's glowing smile in my mind. I was one step closer to her love, and I wasn't giving up now.

nice work. I kinda liked the first chapter better than this one. I liked how it was Crickets point of view, not Austins. I think you need to describe Austin more. Why was he so focused on getting CRICKET???? And why does he just randomly hug her? To me Austin sounds like a geek and a weirdo..... 'sighs' Try to give Cricket a little more hate towards Austin. That might make him more determined to get her. This is just a piece of advice.
