It’s easier to feel the icy frost than it is to feel the burning sensation, but what can you do if you are incapable of feeling the cold without a ‘magic potion’. Everything gets crammed inside of you; your insides become like Picasso’s art. It might sound exquisite, but remember; Picasso’s paintings are commodities. Anything extraordinary in this world is something to be bought or sold.
Love, trust, land, water, life, death, grieving, healing, survival, all of these are a commodity. Nothing is free. (Don’t despair; it has almost always been this way. Just because it, for the millionth time thorough-out history has been said, it doesn’t mean everything has just become harder. Everything will remain the same for now.)
So you, walking around like Picasso’s paintings, have to be careful (when) people will try to buy you off. It’s hard to tell sometimes, and yes you will buy into all of the lies at first, all of us do. Yes, you might fall, yes you might feel broken down and you might give up.
In our darkest hour, that is the time that we are strongest, and strength can be mistaken for weakness, so if you think you are weak for falling; remember that you are strong enough to stand back up.
It’s easy to tell someone that if you want something bad enough you can obtain it, or if you don’t think about it, it will go away… but it is so much harder than that. I don’t mean stop trying; I mean try your hardest. Don’t push yourself past your limits, but push yourself. Everything begins with a push.
“Just
keep moving forward and don't give a s*** about what anybody thinks.
Do what you have to do, for you.”
- Johnny
Depp

Wow, you know you never really see many of these where its telling to be yourself and be strong when its not also telling you that its ok to go out wearing a Miley Cyrus bear suit, and I love that. I also love how its modernized, so many quotes and things like them just tell you about old, dead people, but when you bring in modern people, who aren't wearing bear suits, you can get a point across much more effectively. Again wow, I love it.
xD Lol a Miley Cyrus bear suit comment has arrived! (I'm googling it that sounds hilarious)
. . . o . o I.. regret... googling that.
I've never read something quite like this before and I think it's absolutely brilliant. I loved the reference to Picasso and Johnny Depp's quote- pop culture references I find always manage to capture even more of what you're trying to say and make it more relatable to readers. The motivation that is in the last stanza certainly relays your own thoughts, I felt, do tell me if I'm wrong, but I thought it was very catching. Dare I say I sensed a bit of Catcher in the Rye there!
I would like to know... is this work leaning a bit to the post-modernism side? That's just the impression I got.
Anyways, a great piece of writing, very unique and do keep up the good work!
\ ^ - ^ / I'm so glad you liked it!!! I dare to say... that it was leaning towards post-modernism. \ o. o /
