What do I do,
When I desperately want you to be the one calling me?
And how do I begin to have you see,
How I’ve been trying desperately,
To have you say,
Don’t cry to me,
As I attempt to explain, yet again,
How my love for two is not your burden to bear,
And while a piece of my heart will do much more than care,
For you,
I will not begin to explain how far away from fair,
Our situation is found,
And while I am not sound of mind,
When it comes to you,
I hope we can uncover and discover a find,
That will act as our cure,
To life’s well thought out demise.
After all, I’m the one that has been hurting,
As we have both silently been yearning,
To find a way to solve this problem,
But as fate continues to hate,
The relationship we never began,
We are forced to be just two people learning,
That this is an equation with no solution,
A knot that cannot be undone,
And a battle in which we lack the ability to overcome.
I’ve got a fix,
Is what my heart beats for when the clock ticks,
To yet another minute I spend without you.
My heart is lost,
And while there are few costs I wouldn’t pay,
To be yours,
I can’t help but continue to knock down doors,
In the hopes of finding someone,
Other than you,
To help me overcome,
My inability not to be with you.
The fear hits like bricks
When I continue to watch that damn clock tick.
The time keeps on moving,
While my heart refuses to swing,
Away from you and into a fling that shall not last,
But as life may have it,
Truth will always ring free,
Forcing me to see,
How I want to feel
I want to hurt
In my hopeless attempts to no longer be numb,
But the subtle hum,
Of this ever strenuous clock,
Forces me to dock,
My dream as if it were a ship,
And now, as I stand before you, biting my own lip,
Let me just ask,
As my one last task,
Connecting you with me, and me with you,
As if we were to pennies needed to shine a shoe,
What can I do for you?
I really like this piece. It was brilliant and easy to relate to. The second line is just a tad bit long though. Other than that, this is a wonderful and flawless piece. I really liked the ending. It leaves the reader wondering.
I enjoyed this piece a lot. The flow was great, and so relate able and pretty vivid. The end was perfect, It left a mystery which is what i love and keeps my imagination going.
