The effervescence of my beer
escapes my lips
as my mouth parts and my eyes
close
It's as if the walls of the room
conform to the shape of your body,
wrapping its concrete surface
around your waist-
-yet the void between your world and mine
shines
like New Years sparklers;
blinding at first
but once the glare disappears the
lights dim to real
the scar on your cheek
the green in your eyes and the lines of your face that accent
your beauty
I fear one day
your skin will grow
intangible;
leaping from your body and flying far
above my reach
No longer will we stand on steps made of
edible dreams and scattered doubts
and the cold solid walls
will returen to their shadowy corners
But your smile lives on
in a bubble in a sea of
transparent tears
As I dive into the deepest gulf
to witness my heart crumble before my eyes
I sacrifice
my
last
breath
to sing you a song that
will never reach the surface
to sing you a song that
you will never hear
So when I kiss you for the last time,
save your tears
protect them and mind their
delicate shell, encasing the
strings of blue lights and
old stars
Once courage finds you on
some murkey shoreline,
you can pinch those tear-ends gently
and drop them into the sea
where our love can swim forever
in effervescence

Effervescence: To emit small bubbles of gas, as a carbonated or fermenting liquid
well
pretty powerful.
what i want to know is what you were thinking about when you were writing it
