To stand, to look, to lie.

To look into the faces of those who love you and lie. To see the pain they feel and lie.

That’s what you do. That’s what you do.

You do it to hide the blood that stains your skin. You do it to hide the scars on your body.

You lie. You lie.

Then you run and hide. You hide in the shadows.

You hope the shadows will hide your pain; your shame.

But it won’t.

We can see you. We see your pain. We see your shame.

We see your scars. We see you for what you are.

Please don’t hide anymore. Please don’t run.

But you run to the shadows.

You run like a dog scared of its master. You run like a child from a predator.

You run and run but there is no need; you are free.

You’re free.

Don’t you see I’m not here to hurt you? I am the same as you.

I have your scars. I have your pain.

I am you.

I want nothing more for you than to stand by me; for you to have pride. For you have a Cutter’s pride.

For to see you are not damaged beyond repair; you are loved and wanted.

Loved even though your skin is scarred. Wanted even though you don’t want to be wanted.

That you belong even though you don’t feel like you belong.

So no more running; no more hiding.

You’re free to be who you are. You are free to show you skin.

Your free show the person within.

So walk with pride, A Cutter’s pride.

Walk with me and we both will be free; free to be who we want to be.

We are free to speak the truth, free to help those like us, and free to be what we are.

Free to be a Cutter. Free to be an Ex-Cutter.

Free to have a Cutter’s pride! Free to have a Cutter’s pride!

Dear Seeker742

I was touched by your poem it was a true description of a shadow and how the shadow feels when possibly the sun goes in the poem had it's darkness. And it had it's light it was a true description of a shadow and the darkness it holds deep inside.

Yours faithfully

Hello, NightWolf here to review your poem.

First off, I don't think title is supposed to have three question marks in it. I'm sure this is a typo but, you know, this is a head up in case you didn't notice.

The content of this poem is very serious, as self-harming is no easy topic. But I feel you have pulled it off.

This poem's flow is very choppy, and, if it were intended, it works very well. I get the feeling of someone distressed and slightly rambling here from the choppiness.

Your idea is very original, I never have seen a poem with someone self-harming being proud of it, so well done for your creativity.

Your use of repetition is excellent, and it very clearly portrays the point you are trying to get across. It's a great device to use.

You have some amazing metaphors in here, and they are really descriptive. I can see an image of what's happening in my mind.

I see no errors or flaws here, so keep up the good work!

Hello seeker742, mr.dream with review on your poem.
The first thing I see, is the title of a poem that is quite odd and unique with a triple question marks. I do not know what its purpose, but I understand that the poet has a particular reason.
Looking at the content of the poem, you give a few words to make an impact.

To stand, to look, to lie.

You stand, look and lie. It may seem a bit absurd, but it's a start that encourage readers to continue reading the next line.
To look into the faces of those who love you and lie*. To see the pain they feel and lie*.

The elements of repetition makes the poem seem less convincing and less attractive.
You run like a dog scared of its master. You run like a child from a predator.

Great metaphor. Fit with the tone of voice ;)
Your poem may seem stilted at some parts, but I like the message you want to convey. Do not be afraid to be yourself and 'Free to have a Cutter’s pride!' I like the originality of your poem, but you surely can improve some more on diction. Keep it up! :)
Kudos,cheers.

Don't let fear keep you from some amazing opportunities.
