A dream
Slavery was dismissed for the best of all
unwanted was wanted once more
destiny in life, destiny of me
i got the thing i needed to be
i got what i wished on a dream for myself
a dream where people are together
no blacks no whites no defined rights
every one together
a dream of a place where we all hold hands
together we walk by our own chance
of being free
i had a dream
a dream where people are together.

'where people are together
no blacks no whites no defined rights
every one together'
... You are a typo freak, and I am the hated semi-perfectionist editor who sometimes types for you ...
'we walk by our own chance
of being free
i had a dream'
... *Sigh* It was nothing but a dream ...
Correct 'Dreame'

Bhaow!!
i like the story behind the poem
YOU NEED PUNCTUATION!!!!! AND CAPITALIZATION!!!! Just because it's a poem, doesn't mean it doesn't need either of those. Sorry for the rant, now, the poem was all bad. It just lacked those two key things, your wording was decent and the idea behind it was solid, jut do a little maintenance and you'll be fine. Keep Writing!
Hey Secret!
First I'll just say welcome to YWS seeings as you are quite new here
Anyway onto your poem. I liked it especially this line:
I love this line because it's often what I dream about, a world where everyone gets along happily. But anyway, there were places in the poem where I wasn't sure what you meant particularly in the first part of the poem. I think you could be clearer in the way you put across what you are trying to say especially because you don't have a rhyme scheme or regular rhythm to restrict you
You could also make it clearer by adding punctuation. Although it's a poem punctuation is needed so that the reader knows where to breathe
I loved the ideas behing your poem though
Oh and I noticed a little typo in the title you put
Anyway overall I thought you did a good job
Keep Writing,
Lydia
