Once I knew you but, now you’re so far away.
I long to talk to you,
To see your smile,
To hear your voice.
Once we were inseparable but,
That time has passed.
It’s gone never to be seen again.
Time has passed and we’ve grown
Apart.
I wish things could’ve
Been different.

This is something a lot of people can relate to, me included.
I still find it incredible how people work. Even when I think I understand them, they do something that catches me completely off guard.
I have lost friends through simply growing apart and I have lost people when literally they were there one minute and gone the next.
It is something everyone goes through but it doesn't make it any less painful.
This is a very simple and relatable poem.
Hi there sandman, I see you've had some fried ship problems?
I'm truly sorry that you've lost a friend. I understand how hard that can be, I've moved around a lot so I've had to leave lots of great friends behind. If only friendship was easier, right? I compleatly feel ya sandman and if you ever need to talk or vent or just need someone to listen, you can always PM me.
About your poem, I'd say it's written quite well and everything is very good. I can't find anything to correct and you definatly bring that feeling of sadness when you read this poem. Bravo!
Overall, very nice and please keep writing! Also, if you ever need a friend, I'm here for ya.

Ohhh Sandman. Dearrrr, Sandman.
Losing a friend is hard, I know. I think it is very sweet of you to write a poem, though. You're an incredibly sweet guy, you know? I'm very sorry, dear.
I really cannot say much about this poem because it's already nicely written.
This review isn't going to be a full review, in fact. I want to attempt to cheer up a friend.
Sandman, I'm doing this because I care, and you and I have been friends basically since I started YWS. I'm very happy to be friends with you. You're a very sweet and kind person who is a dear person to my heart. I know that losing a friend is hard, but you eventually do have to learn that lost doesnt necessarily mean forever. Your friendship could spark again. You never know. Lost can also mean forever, and I hope, for you, that it isnt forever. I hope everything gets better, Sandman. I really do. I'm here if you need to talk <3
Always here.
~Rin
Thank you. You're one of the only people to think that I'm a sweet person but that's because I'm too antisocial to go up and talk to people. Thank you for the advice and your friendship. It seems like I've known you my whole life almost.
I'm always here, my friend. Always. I care about you and I hate to see you upset, mate.
Hello! herbgirl here for a review!
So, I'd like to start off by saying that I have a pretty bad cold right now, so if any of my reviewing stuff seems a little off it's probably because snot is clouding my judgement. Sorry! So, I like this poem. I really like how you got creative with the line breaks, I love seeing people do that, it really mixes it up for people who are used to reading poems with the same old meter and rhyme scheme.
Now, while I do like your initiative with the line breaks, I think they could use a little work. If you're going to do this, then I think it's better for you to make the lines shorter. The abrupt line changes will keep the reader moving ahead, thinking at a faster pace, trying to keep up with your ideas. For example, split the first line into three lines, so that the poem reads, "Once I knew you/but now/ You're so far away." Another point where you could do this would be in the fifth line. I suggest changing that line to "Once we were inseparable/But,/...." And also in the last two lines, which I think should be adjusted to "I wish things could've been/ Different," because it makes the final word, which was your title and seems pretty important to me, stand out more.
Now, I had one other thing I wanted to point out to you, and if you disagree with what I have to say, feel free to ignore it, I'm not trying to hurt you in any way. I think that this poem is too general. I realize that it probably contains a lot of emotion for you, but I think that the way that you wrote it it also could have applied to anyone that I know. If you make it more personal, it might have more of an impact on the reader. Try adding things like how you feel, perhaps comparing those feelings to something anyone can understand, like splintering wood, or waves crashing on you over and over again.
Anyways, overall, good work. Try to get a little more emotion in there, if you can, and if not, try to incorporate it in your next poem!

I know how you feel. Losing a friend is very tough. Trust me, I know the feeling. I lost seven of the closest people I knew. And soon ended up losing more. It's really tough. I know. But eventually, everything ends up being okay. It'll get better. You'll meet more people. And hopefully you will click with them, and then they can become your best friend. It's very very very hard to forget about someone. I know because of the past experiences I've had. I will never forget them. Because they are the closest people to me. But, people come an go. and It'll all end in a great big boom of joy. Once you find someone who won't leave your side and will be there 100% of the way no matter what happens. And don't forget, smiling and making conversation to random strangers (by being super kind and listening to them if they need help) is the best way to meet new people. (i do it all the time.) and yes, I knw this sounds cheesy af. But it'l all get better.
This is for anyone who's having a hard time. You can PM me and I'll talk to you as much as you need. I don't even have to know you, and I already care about you. Heck, talk to me for 5 minutes and I will care so much for you. It's all going to be okay. I promise.
Stand in faith, even when life is getting tough
