Have you ever seen a poem so beautiful you started crying? I immediately felt compelled to give you the nine dollars I have in my backpack and say "this is the best poem I have ever seen so I think you deserve it. I was going to buy my lunch with this but whatever" but I decided against it. Then I started crying. I seriously cried for an hour. I ran to the bathroom and came out later and I was even more tired than before. I was overtired already and btw I'm a girl. I don't know why I cried because of that but this poem was better than all of the poems I've ever read!

That having been said, at first i was confused because I understood that the man was known for the first letter of each line. So I understood the that he would be known for an "S" then an "H" and so on. Each individually separated from the others. Then it dawned on me that you were referring to an acrostic and found the word Shrek. Since I saw the film with this green ogre as the star I wondered whether the term "handsome" was appropriate. Then I realized that the statement is verbal irony.


Acrostics are always a challenge to do and fun. Thanks for sharing.

Poetry is a divine form of art. It holds meaning beyond measure, it is a way that artists can express themselves with language. It is the purest form of art.

It is clear to me that you take your art very seriously. A true poet among us mere mortals, yes, this is truly the height of poetic performance. We all should just give up now! No one can ever reach this level of art.

Now on to the content. I shed tears when I read this. Your language and word play was stunning.

So, to start out this review, YES A SHORT POEM. I love reviewing short poems. They are quick and its fun to see if they pack a punch or not! And this poem, this acrostic, By the Celestials, I laughed so hard on the inside (I was in class when I wrote this), when I read the line! Seriously, the memes are strong with this one. Besides that, I didn't notice anything wrong with the poem. It flowed well and the grammar was good. But if you don't use grammar, please remember to put in an Authors Note to address things about your poem/work that you want us readers to know!

Seriously, the memes. I was not, in any way expecting to see the word SHREK on the side as the acrostic. I must say, you did well. Its hard to pull them off, I know, considering I have written many.
