Love's Theory.

PreviousNext

When two people who are meant for each other, and are seconds away from colliding, the tension in the earth’s atmosphere becomes so high that lights all around the world begin to flicker for ten seconds straight; because of the magnitude of their love that has been foreseen. Birds begin to sing and trees wave with the utmost anticipation of their union that has been predestined by the forces of time.

When their eyes meet, time stops. the earth stands still, then a sudden flood of emotion blinds their method of reasoning. Which gives birth to the phrase, "love is blind."
While their eyes are on a fixed gaze of each other, their heart beat is at its highest velocity, there becomes numbness in their fingers and toes. There is the sudden feel of floating on a cloud. and they would swear they hear angels sing an "A" note continously as they walk towards each other.
During this time in space, these two people are adamant about their surrounding, they become totally unaware of the people or things around them. Heavens forbid they meet on a main road, then theirs would be a tragic comedy.
When they get to few centemiters close to each other, their eyes begins to caress each others existence, in that fixed gaze, a pure light , mixed with each of their essence, escapes from their beings; thats why most people gasp for breath at the first sight of their one true love. And then this essence, mixed with pure light and emotions, meet at their center and collide in beautiful harmony.
That, my darlings... is how it begins.

Its fantastic. i mean wow how can someone write it in such simple terms. this is the best description of love at first sight i have ever had.
okay now stepping to the nitpicking-
is this really a poem. as the stanza's were rather paragraphs to call our loud. i think there has been some mistake in categorizing your work.

"Heavens forbid they meet on a main road, then theirs would be a tragic comedy."- I burst out laughing reading this. it is quite true. you may as well include the audacity they have to face at the end of this encounter to make it even better
"Which gives birth to the phrase, "love is blind." "- you nailed me at this like. i loved it just i loved it.
you know the true art of writing where you can perfectly mold the emotions. its good that you didn't make it a long plea but one with humor gaps.
keep writing,
Rituparna

Thanks alot for taking the time to read and comment :)

Ms. Nanya, I do believe I should return the favor for such a wonderful review on my own work, and I adore hearing the theories of other minds. :)

Now, I would like to ask if you believe in chances or in judgments. That is to say, you first speak about a theory, a belief as strictly put, and to believe in something means to assume the possibility of there never being an opportunity. The end with foresight, and predetermined destinies. Which hold a significant amount less belief than believing, and rather would contain justification. To say, "It is bound to happen eventually." rather than, "I know it will happen." A justification, and a belief to the same instance.

Just food for thought, continuing on. :)

"A sudden flood of emotion blinds there method of reasoning." This is a powerful line. Extremely in depth that should be left alone to its own devices. To continue on with the next line, even possibly the next to lines is to give its credit to other powers. That is to say, 'their method of reasoning' becomes an image limited to only the sight at the moment we read the next two lines. We assume that is the reason to which it is blinded, but in fact this mention gives insight to more than just sight. To more than just our senses alone, and to what we can physically or even mentally see.

"These two people are adamant about their surroundings, they become totally unaware of the people or things around them." This second piece is a repeating statement that to practiced readers tells us, you don't think we are ready to understand what it is you are trying to convey. To be adamant to your surroundings in this sense would indeed mean your oblivious, which could have also been used to tell a more simple view of the moment.

"Heaven forbids... comedy." I think it can be structured in way to make it more fluent, but it is a good comic relief to the whole. :)

This next verse is one I thought felt rushed. The same language is used almost mechanically, as if you couldn't think of anything else to add on. Not that the verse did not entail to us what your intention meant, but compared to the rest of your piece it was almost like: A sundae with a some sprinkles rather than with frosting, sprinkles, nuts, and a cherry on top.

In summary, I enjoyed the read, and the image of it was excellent. I will mark this as a scrpt rather than a poem for the way it read, (And y the way, grammatical fixes are in need), but that does not influence the pleasure I had to view it. Furthermore, it gave me a rather full view into a mind of one who wants to be swept off her feet at the earliest opportunity. ;) I would oblige any gentleman to do so quickly, for if one so young can still believe in love at first sight. Than a first sight you shall ever forget is due for you. :)

Have a good day, Ms. Nanya.

Oh wow.... I think I fell in love with this!

So, to begin, your details here are astoundingly beautiful. However, there are a few bald spots.

"That’s why they say love is blind. i know because i have felt it before."

First, capitalize that "i". It's driving me crazy. Second, it should probably be "That's why they say that love is blind." It flows smoothly. I would remove that second sentence entirely. This is about how people fall in love! And you choose to invade it with your own experience? How dare you, as the author, take away from the readers' experience by doing that?

" And then this essence, mixed with pure light and emotions, meet at their center and collide in beautiful harmony.
That, my darlings... is how it begins."

I especially enjoyed how you ended this. I felt as if the piece itself could've been longer and had more of those wonderful details you gave, but overall it was very well done and I got the mental image you were trying to give me.

Keep writing!

o, thanks alot :) ill fix it

Hello, nanya.

Love is a very common subject in poetry. Some would say that art is only about one of two things: love and death. Somehow, all art connects to one of these.

This is a very interesting piece on falling in love. I like your descriptions of vibrations of the earth and things, but there are a few things that should be changed, grammatically speaking and for the sake of the poem.

It’s my belief, that
Saying "I believe" or "I think" at the beginning of something weakens your argument. Take out the part I've quoted, so we can get right into this.

each other, are seconds
add "and" after "other,"

because of the magnitude
Take out "because of" as the semi colon represents this.

their love that has
Take out "that"

anticipation of their union that
Because you don't reference the couple in this sentence, there is nothing to connect the pronoun "their" to. Use "the" instead of "their," and your problem here will be solved.

When their eyes meet, time stops. the earth stands still,
This is very cliche. Find a different way of saying things. I've heard about the earth standing still for love so many times that it no longer holds meaning for me.

That’s why they say love is blind. i know because i have felt it before.
This interrupts what you've got jamming here. Take these out. Your poem will be better for it.

hear angels sing an "A" note continously
Angels singing is also pretty cliche. And a continuous single note isn't actually that pleasant to listen to. Try a chord here.

Heavens forbid they meet on a main road, then theirs would be a tragic comedy.
Where this is positioned, it's not doing it for me. It adds something almost comedic to the piece, and I don't think that's what you were going for.

That, my darlings... is how it begins.
Take this out. It weakens the end of the poem. You could end on harmony and it would work just fine.

I hope that this review proves useful to you! Happy YWSing!

thanks for the review. Glad you liked at least a line of the poem. lol
