Writers Block

Now...I actually had writers block when I wrote this so I'm not really sure that it's any good but I figured, since I wrote it, I might as well post it! So don't be afraid to tell me how bad it is! :D

Writers block.
A dreaded period of time for every writer.
We fear it,
And undeniably hate it.

It does the impossible,
Turning our worst nightmares,
Into a reality.
Ruthlessly stopping creativity in its tracks.
Destroying any spark of a decent thought,
Making it unthinkable for an idea to ignite.

You never know when it can come,
Or when it will go.
But you do know,
When it arrives,
It will frustrate you.
Sending your mind into insanity.

Does it realize, it's the reason,
For all those crumpled pieces of paper?
No.

Does it realize, it's the reason,
You're screaming at an empty page?
No.

Does it realize, if it were a person,
You'd probably kill it?
No.

Do you still wish,
With every ounce of your being,
That it would go to hell?
Yes.

Yeah, after about an hour of utter frustration I gave up trying. Ha, I'm actually writing in my journal now. =)

You definitely made some good points that I totally connected to but I agree with maryletsflyaway. I don't really see a point to it, other than it's truth. Whenever I have writers block and try to write, it usually is pretty stripped of all emotion unfortunetly. I admire you posting it though; I usually don't dare to post anything that I had to force myself to write. A suggestion to you: stay away from writing actual novels/poems ect. and maybe try writing in your journal. It's what I do. =)

Haha, I know what you mean. I sat there writing this and thinking 'This really STINKS.'

It didn't have too much to it that I liked myself but I figured, why let a bad poem go to waste! Haha.

I'm hoping I get out of this VERY soon. :p

I don't see any direction with this poem and it's relatively obvious that you have writer's block (no offense). Someone told me once that I wrote a poem that was static, and that's exactly what this is: static. There is not sort of revelation in overcoming the writer's block, or making a legitimate use of the void of ideas. Hopefully you'll get out of this rut of writer's block! Sometimes I liked your imagery throughout the piece, but other then that I thought the execution of the idea of writer's block was extremely static. lol Sorry to repeat myself.

And on the pedestal these words appear:/'My name is Ozymandias, king of kings;/Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!'/Nothing beside remains.
— Percy Bysshe Shelley
