Our rules were simple: Watch over them. Make sure they know who the real "King of All Creations" is. If they fall off of the beaten path and begin to worship false gods, smite them. Most importantly, love them as though they are taking your place in Father's heart, because they are. Humans. Skum. Monkeys without fur. Just as bad, if not worse than the demon wretches from hell. Those spiteful little beings that he has deamed perfect. Even more so than us. Watching over them was the most degrading job He could have assigned me. I'd rather be a temp than be down here, fighting a never ending war against Lucifer and his forces.
Yet, here I am. Watching them scramble around on their weak legs, barely able to stumble, let alone walk. It's amazing they've survived this long. Of course they needed my assistance, after all, I did give them the fire that has stopped their extinction. Father's orders of course. I would never help them if I had my own free will.
Watching them for these hundreds of years has grown so tiresome. It began as just a slight hatred, however now it is just loathing. Watching these humans' hatred and wars and slavery grown into entire empires is just horrifying. Of course, they are nothing to the Angels, but still.
The Egyptians they call themselves. Worshiping their human leader as a God, along with worshiping many other Gods. The entire race was built on blasphemy. Not only this but they are making certain all of Father's people, his so called "chosen race", suffer the cruelties of slavery and are forced to build these over-sized tombs to honor the Egyptian leaders, and great monuments to honor their "Gods". It's sick. I would like to scorch the land they call home, however, Father will not allow it.
I have my own plans for them, my child, just be patient and watch my plan
So despite my anger, I stilled my blade and watched. Father's plan is perfect, I repeatedly tell myself. Then, the slaughter started. Their leader's order to kill each and every small boy in the village. "The population has grown to great! We must control it so we may continue to control them." Thousands of soldiers with sharp weapons tore through homes and were soaked in the blood of newborns and toddlers. Small crying babies torn from their mother's arms as she pleads for his life. She is always knocked aside, always kicked and mocked as they take the babies heads. Some threw the children into the Nile. The crocodiles ate them and the banks were soaked with innocent blood. Still, Father tells me he has a plan. Still, I must hold back my loathing. Why should I care for the lives of these children, these human spawn who do nothing but cry, who cannot even walk on their own. But even so, I feel pain for these children. I cannot stay still and watch them.
A mother escapes. She runs past the men, a bundle in her arms with her daughter behind her, carrying a basket made of reeds and papyrus. They make it to the banks of the Nile and, hidden in the tall grasses, set the basket gently into the water. I watch from behind them as they place the bundle into the basket and close the lid. They push it from the bank and stand as it is pulled away by the current, right past the mouth of a hungry crocodile. I am furious. They had gotten away! They could have saved this child rather than let it be eaten or drowned! I rush to the child and open the basket. He is tiny, barely a month old with a light brown dusting of hair on his fragile head. I pick him up and he reaches out to me. "Shhh..." I whisper. "Sleep, my child for there is a place in Heaven specially for you." I place a finger on his forehead and watch as he closes his eyes and takes his peaceful last breath.
Just as I lay the child down in the basket, the air around me begins to tremble. Father is angry. Is it because of the slaughter of his chosen people? Everything stills and I can feel a tremendous presence come over me, the warmth of my Father, like he was holding my hand. But, wait, this isn't a peaceful presence....this is a wrathful one. Father, is he angry at me for interfering? Why? This child was obviously destined to die anyway, why make his death painful?

Hello, love! Aurora here with a quick review day review for you.

.
This was a really short piece- I especially liked the ending! Also, you have great descriptions in here that I really enjoyed reading.
Alright then, down to business. Nitpicks first?
Our rules were simple: Watch over them.
Nothing actually grammatically wrong with this- I just think that if you changed the first half of the sentence to read 'Our rules were few and simple:', or 'simple and few', it would read better and give you sort of a better rhythm.
Humans. Skum. Monkeys without fur.
Scum is splled just like that... s.c.u.m.
Just as bad, if not worse than the demon wretches from hell.
You need a comma after the words 'if not worse'
Those spiteful little beings that he has deamed perfect.
You misspelled 'deamed'. It's spelled deemed
I'd rather be a temp than be down here, fighting a never ending war against Lucifer and his forces.
Temp? ooh, what's a temp? Unless you explain this better than just in context to the reader, use a more common word. I'm guessing it means something along the lines of an angelic warrior, but having weird words in the middle of a great paragraph can be very distracting.
Yet, here I am.
No comma in this sentence whatsoever.
Of course they needed my assistance, after all, I did give them the fire that has stopped their extinction.
Try hyphens around after all, rather than commas. Comma after 'of course'. And finally, the last part of that sentence reads a bit oddly. Not sure what can be done to fix it while still keeping the sentence intact, though.
End of nitpicks.
This was filled with bitterness- I could hear it in every word the narrator said! Your style is perfect for this, but inserting more figurative language in there couldn't be bad, after all. I mean, your MC is an angel, right? And it's very possible to be bitter and use figurative language- in fact, it might even help your mood!
Keep persisting, love.

Hi, Pasta!
It's Dragon here for a critique. Hope you don't mind.
Okay, to start, this didn't go how I expected, and I like that. I thought it'd be a little longer, but it was very short and bittersweet, so that was really nice. It like this idea, and I like how you leave the reader kind of wanting more.
That said, I'm just going to nitpick a little.
Okay, this is a good start. I would just recommend changing skum to scum, and changing the monkeys with fur part, because that's a little redundant- it would be more like monkeys without fur.
Also, the first and third paragraphs tend to get a little confusing as you switch from a first and second person narration, so I would recommend just choosing one and going with that, or once you lay out 'the rules' go right back into first person and keep it like that.
The first and second sentences are pretty good, but the third is a little bit redundant with the reuse of the word hatred. I recommend just taking out the word hatred altogether in the third sentence and just saying 'Watching how these humans war and enslave and grow into empires of such things is just horrifying.'
At times you also switch from past to present tense, which jumbles it up a bit. I recommend just sticking with one.
Other than a few spelling and grammar errors, this was great! I would love to read more from you! Keep on writing!

Thank you so much for the review! I'm glad that you liked it and you're right, I really didn't notice that a few of these were redundant statements
I appreciate your help and I'll fix them as soon as possible. The monkeys with fur was just a plain mistake I didn't realize I hadn't put without so thank you so much for pointing that out :3 I'll work more on not switching so much as well xD I was told by my teachers during high school that I did that a lot in my essays too so thank you for pointing that out as well or I wouldn't have noticed
Here it is, my first story. I hope everyone likes it
