Life Story

I haven't Really written anything in a realllly long time. woke up this morning and had an outburst of creativity. So here.

What am I in this sea of life?
Am I unique? Or am I common?
Many people filled with strife
Ask this boring question

Yes you are one of a kind
But that’s not what makes you special
People who care are hard to find
They exist; they’re not unsubstantial

Souls that burn brighter than others
That comforts those who are close
They help the weak without the utter
Of a single word to boast

Money? Fame? Glory?
Those are only life’s little illusions
But true life is a much grander story
That, my friend, is my conclusion

Fantastic poem! I loved every bit.

Perfect stanza. Beautifully written and executed. It had a nice flow aswell. The use of "boring" was well chosen also. Great job. I can't wait to read more of your work and I hope you have lots more bursts of creativity! Keep writing please!

Well, usually I'm a bit critical of poems that don't rhyme but, somehow, this one was different. ;-) I specially liked he question-answer style. I especially loved this part-

Souls that burn brighter than others
That comforts those who are close
They help the weak without the utter
Of a single word to boast

There could have been some more use of metaphors to make it a bit more attractive. Like, just a suggestion because I felt it was a bit too direct. So, that's it. :-)
Loved your work. Keep writing and keep improving. Good luck!

I'd be a quote vigilante. A literary Batman. Someone had better be quoting me now!
