Shoes strike the pavement like the wild rainfall anticipating a tempest.

A car hurtles by me and I am determined to catch up.

The royal blue sedan hangs an abrupt left and the chase concludes as expeditiously as it began.

I proceed my alacritous jaunt and glance at the trees

Flashing as I pick up speed.

My physical exhaustion dissipates as I accelerate.

I am invincible

I am a runner

Relatable... I love to run too. I like your idea and subject. I think that you should find a way to make this poem flow smoothly. This is my advise I would try to find a rhyme scheme, a similar sentence length, and use smaller words (this is just my preference).

I am a runner,
My shoes strike the pavement
like the wild rainfall coming out of enslavement.

A car hurtles by me,
I am determined to pick up speed.

I would also think out a new title something more unique.

Keep Writing! Good Work so far.

Oh my god this reminds me of the flash! Have you ever seen that show? It is amazing. If you ever want to add more to this watching that show could help. Especially this one scene where they describe the intense feeling of running. They go off like, feeling the air on your skin, the ground as glide over it. You are no longer yourself but a part of something greater. The electricity coursing through your veins pushing you to be faster. You move with the wind, quickly but soft, a beautiful thing. I don't know if you were going to add anymore or start a new one but something like that would be good. I love the line, My physical exhaustion dissipates as I accelerate. Because it is like the opposite of what happens. I know I am not a runner and when I start I get really tired and when I go faster I get even more tired but that line is just amazing.

Keep on writing! You are very talented!

Hey! EverWinter here for a review!

I have a lot of runner friends and I used to run a lot before I hurt my knees, so I can really relate to this. I have a few vocab suggestions for you, but other than that, your structure is good and it flows well.

First, I don't know if "anticipate" is the right word in your first line. "Foresees" or "Tells of" would work, I just don't know if anticipate is a good word because to anticipate is to wait for, but the rain isn't waiting for the tempest, it is starting it.

Next, hurtles sounded awkward because I instantly thought of hurdles, like in track. You can keep it, because it is the proper use of the word, but you might want to consider the word "barrels" or "flashes" because it wouldn't be misleading.

Other than that you did a great job! I like these simple poems that are just quick and fun. (I didn't mean it was written simply, but it wasn't throwing huge words and intense symbols down my throat just by the way :D )

Thanks for letting me read and review, I enjoyed it!

I wondered why we put villains in our stories when we have plenty of them in real life; then I realized that maybe we wanted stories where the good guy wins.
