Free At Last (Queen of the Robots Chapter 5)

"Hurry, Meeca." Seredon whispered harshly.

"I'm coming, jeeze!" she squeezed through the hole.

Tolomeer sat there, a cloak around her shoulders and a duffle bag at her feet.  She grasped Drinnmeeca's hands and kissed her on the head.  They hugged while Seredon stood there awkwardly. He took the two duffel bags and stuffed himself through the hole.  Tolomeer and Drinmeeca stared at eachother.  "Drinmeeca dear, you are now back to Meeca." she smiled.  Meeca laughed and the two stuffed themselves through the hole.  "Come, follow me, Meeca and......." he trailed.

"Meer.  Tolomeer." the mother replied.

Seredon nodded and the trio quickly ran along the corridor.  The robot scanned every place before entering. "That's our strength, Mummy." Meeca grinned.  Tolomeeer hushed her daughter as they tiptoed across the last corridor.  They approached a gate.  Seredon laid his hands down as flat as paper while Meeca stood atop the metal fingers.  The robot counted to three softly and threw her over the electric gate.  Meeca landed on her feet, and, surprised at her steadiness, collapsed.  Tolomeer was thrown over the gate and landed next to her daughter.  She helped Meeca get on her feet while Seredon jumped the gate.

The trio began to run away, duffel bags and all.  At last, they came to Merdiac Village.  They stopped at the Cuddly Bunny Inn.  The trio burst through the door.  Meeca breathed in the smell of baking and beer.  She smiled at her mother and cuddled closer.  Seredon marched up to the innkeeper, demanding a room for three.  The innkeeper, a fat man turned around, his face covered with hair.  He grinned and clapped his hands.  "Why, you gotta pay, yer robotic mess!" he cried out.

Tolomeer hurried to pull out the coins and set them down on the table.  "Three mercines?  I'd ask for tips!" the innkeeper complained.  Tolomeer shrugged, "I can work for you.  I can cook."  The innkeeper stared at her, still smiling.  He chuckled, "Oh, ho!! Of course you can cook! Oh, ho! All woman can!! But I want yer robot."  Seredon stared at him.  "I'm not a slave, mind you lazy man." he sneered. The innkeeper froze, in mid-laugh.  His jaw dropped and his eyes grew wide.

Meeca laughed.  She had had the same expression when Seredon had speaken to her.  Tolomeer and Seredon laughed with her.  The inkeeper sat there, with a frozen expression.  He shook his head and began to speak, "Sure, fine.  Stay here for three mercines.  But please, don't let that robot hurt my men!"

"I am Meeca.  This is my mother Tolomeer and my best friend, Seredon." Meeca said.

"Pleased to meet you, Tolomeer." he chuckled.

Tolomeer smiled faintly and the trio trudged up the stairs.  Seredon grabbed the woman's arms right when she collapsed.  Meeca's mouth opened, ready to scream when Seredon shushed her.  He picked her up, giving the little girl the duffel bags. Meeca ran after him.  The robot scanned for their room, and, finding it, kicked it open.

Meeca started to look around immediatly.  She found a white, clean bathroom, with big, white, fluffy towls, and soap.  She ran into the bedroom, finding three white-covered beds, a table, chairs, and TV. She grinned as Seredon laid Tolomeer on the middle bed.  Meeca turned on the TV. She flipped through the channel and found one of her favorite shows, Hannah Montanna. The little girl laughed as Hannah's brother said a funny line.

Seredon cocked his head and stared at the TV.  He had never seen such a funny looking thing.  He sat next to Meeca, picking up the remote.  "No! Don't change the channel, Seredon!" Meeca begged.  Seredon waved her away, scanning the remote.  Meeca grinned and watched the show.  "It's peculiar, a TV is. What does TV stand for anyways?" he said.  "Television.  I guess it lets you see shows on a screen?" Meeca tried explaining.

"Television." Seredon said to himself.

"Yeah, television." Meeca grinned.

Seredon blinked, "You should get to bed, Meeca."

Meeca groaned as Seredon turned off the TV.  "But I want to see more!" she whined.  Seredon shrugged and tucked her into her bed.  Meeca stared out the window.  She smiled to herself as she saw the stars in the sky.  Meeca stared at the crystal jewels displayed on the black velvet until she closed her eyes to never open until morning.
