Here, I don't intend to claim that I don't lie. But I definitely don't think it's OK to lie and often fail terribly at it. Sometimes I have to lie, just to make a situation better. In such scenarios we all feel it's OK to lie because a 'small' lie can turn things in our favour. Well, yes. But why is it so?
Because we're a world obsessed with serendipity. Even though we see no potential of it happening, we still keep wishing it happens. Any consolation in that regard calms us and soothes what's burning inside.
But I don't want to soothe my fire. It is what keeps me from giving up and going berserk.
That is why I like brutally honest people. They might seem rude and harsh but atleast they're not pretending to be someone else. They are people we can bank on, people who are actually making the world a better place to live in.
I would trade my seven lives in this world for a year in a world where all the people are honest. Where you can make friends without the fear of being stabbed and express your real emotions without the fear of being misinterpreted.
That would be my utopia. Because of course, ' There is no legacy as rich as honesty'.

I think people lie because lying makes the world keep spinning. Peace on earth depends on a delicate balance of people lying. We lie to maintain. Tell the truth for an entire week. You'll get in so much trouble, and you might lose people you care about. We lie because we aren't children that don't know the difference between idealism and reality.
Rude and harsh people can still pretend to be someone else. They can lie to themselves about their own character, and still tell the truth in all other places. I wouldn't put trust in a person like this, because I'd wonder if they cherished anything. I really doubt that the people making the world a better place have never lied.
I think the essay seems a tad bit childish. Mostly because it sounds like a rant. Complaining about the world and how it isn't perfect. I don't really think you are looking for review here but wanting to know the opinions of others. If they agree. If you got your point across well. That type of thing. Technically you did. I think you need to give us something curiously profound for the essay to make the reader think. We've all thought about this, and we always come up with the same conclusion.
A good lie can save the world.
Thank you for the review. I guess you misunderstood the point of my article. The purpose behind it was not to preach that lying is bad and honesty should prevail in situations even where it's harmful. But while writing this article I was thinking about compulsive liars. I have known a lot of people who lie out of habit, about small things, and eventually making them unreliable. In situation where you are addressing a group or where your opinion matters, you shouldn't lie and misguide people. So if you saw the article from as a deeper form of rant than I think I've in fact failed in putting across the point the way I wanted. I hope this clears it

I love this topic, which is something that I have thought about before, and you wrote very beautifully.
It does sort of seem like a rant at places like here
I know that this is not poetry but I think that you can edit this to ake it run more smoothly, and elegant.
My favorite line is because it is very nicely written and is well written. But, it does contrast the bluntness of the rest of the essay. So I would suggest to either change the rest, and this quote, just because it seems choppy.
