Why Don't I Feel Anything?

He sits by me,
But never relaxes.
He looks at me,
But never sees.
He opens his mouth,
But never talks.
He kisses me,
But never means it.
How can I love him?
Maybe love is just confusing,
I'm just mixed up.
Or maybe I don't love him at all.
Maybe I'm just with him because,
Because I don't think I could get anything better.
And as a song that he chooses floats through the car,
I realize something important:
If I cannot see something that everyone says is there,
Is it really there?
Or is it just my mind going balistic on me?
And if my friends are right,
If he and I are really meant to be,
Then why don't I feel anything?

hello. i heart books too, you know.

for me, this is a strong poem because it conveys your emotion perfectly well. i can feel your confusion, your sadness, your longing for it because you don't feel anything. being a girl and all, you know. i'm kinda sensitive to these things too.

it's already pretty the way it is. but if you want, you can form stanzas. depends on you.

hope i made sense. keep writing.

How sad... I'm a marshmallow when it comes to dramatic and sad things like this. But, it definitely rings a bell. I like the use of words, like "float", because it is new, most would use "blaring", no doubt about it. A nine-and-a-half out of ten, a little sad, I got misty eyes...
