The Greatest View

The hardest mountain to climb
will have the greatest view.

Everything's at a different angle:
memories serve as double vision,
a sight from the valleys
as well as the precipice.

But everything that goes up
must come down.

The descent from the peak
will be twice as graceful,
and three times as difficult.

I liked this. This sounds like something my dad would say, kind of "you get what you work for" ideology. But at first read it looks so simple, but then looking at it again I get a feeling of sort of vastness and a deeper sort of idea. Unfortunately, I don't have much in the way of critiques. What a terrible excuse for a reviewer I am. :P

Hey icanbefixed,

This was such a good poem! I loved it's simplicity and it wasn't something complicated or mind-blocking. It was pretty straight-forward and gentle. The wording was really great though! I especially loved the first two opening lines. The rest flowed and made perfect sense, and within it's simplicity, the moral of it all was kept well.

Fantastic! Could I say anymore? Best wishes for future writing!

Hello! This was very short, but I liked it very much. It made sense and made me smile. However, I have to agree that a little bit more detail would have improved this piece. Overall though I greatly enjoyed it. I like short poems better than long ones (Just my own personal opinion). Your word choice was lovely and well thought out. Great job! :)

Hooray, a metaphor! I love metaphors, I'm a compete sucker for them, and I haven't heard this one before, so I think it's pretty original. Although, the whole what goes up must come down idea isn't really original, but still! I loved your opening lines, and I really like the end as well. And I like how the poem leaves the reader to guess what it's really about or apply it to a situation they're going through themselves or have been through. I like the tone of the poem as well.

Amazing! Five out of five. I loved the idea. You made it so clear with the words you used. Unfortunately I don't have time to give a lengthy review, hopfully you'll forgive me :P
But honestly, I probably wouldn't be able to give much of a review. Your grammer's good, the structure is sound. I like that it isn't symetrical in the stanza length. It flows much better and isn't forced.
My favourite lines are the second, "will have the greatest view." it intrigues me and is a great way to start, makes me want to read more. My next favourite is "memories serve as double vision," I had to think about that one a bit more, but it wasn't cluttered or anything so it came across quite well.

Great job, I really did enjoy this! Keep writing :smt003

It is a good piece... As you said it is a short poem and it is really very short and simple.
But even of its being short it is very meaning..
I liked it...

But everything that comes goes up Here if you use goes up then it would be better
must come down.

All in all it was a very good poem.
Keep up the good work... :)
PM me for anything... :D

This was simple yet quite lovely. It made me smile.
However I would have liked more detail to be added in it as I felt more of a desription would have worked nicely and yet would have still kept its simple feel.
I also liked the way you structured it but another verse or two would have worked.
Overall a lovely piece of poetry.
Well done!
