From the depths of the darkness of this world.
There lies an understanding.
An understanding in which all fears and anxieties melt.
The beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
For when pain is felt, it is because there is an opposite.
A suppressed need for love and joy.
Hidden away, as it may seem.
The love will always linger, as it always has.
That feeling deep within our souls.
The feeling of wonder and a mysterious curiousity for all that is.
This world, for what it is, we may never fully understand.
All there is to know is that we are more then this world when it shakes and spirals out of control and all hope seems lost.
We are the sun as it rises and the moon that glows at night.
We are the crisp air in winter and the rising waves of summer.
We are the children of this planet, the keepers.
For as long as we are hidden in the darkness.
Never shall we reach our heightened awareness.
An awareness of everlasting love and peace.
Now how beautiful does that sound?
Tell me, for this beauty all arises from our planet, from us, as one.
It always has, and always will.
I love the message you are trying to send here and you've got some really wonderful word choice going on. I love how you draw people in with the first two lines. Bringing to everyone's attention a darkness that a lot of people have known and then softening that pain with the second and third line with this subtlety which is all word choice, so good job.
I feel like the message would have been a little more clear if you were to create stanzas so that the poem flowed a bit easier. But I understand, stanzas on this website are little hard to do, I know from experience. I'm sure there's a magic button somewhere that helps but I don't know it and if you do please I would love to know!
I also am a little confused about the line;
"For when pain is felt, it is because there is an opposite."
I'm not really sure what you were going for here and it detracts a little from the overall effect you are are trying to achieve.
I also feel stylistically, although I like the last nine lines I feel it is a little disjointed with the rest of the poem because the writing changes so drastically. Not to say that those last nine lines weren't good because they were beautiful and really honed in on what you wanted to say. Good job.
Hey there....
Humphrey here for a review*
Okay let's get this straight....This piece is awesome,,,you won't understand how much! You have the same tone of poem with my twin brother and I enjoyed this like I do his.
One thing that I always find misleading is the title people give to great works like this. The title does not draw attention to the beauty of this poem, and most people will just pass it by without a second thought because the title is not captivating.....
Enough of those rants about the title, HUMPHREY,, will you!!? Humbly, yes I will...lol'
The beginning of this poem is almost perfect...I said 'almost' because nothing is perfect!
{From the depths of the darkness of this world.
There lies an understanding.
An understanding in which all fears and anxieties melt.}
That caught my attention immediately and built a curiousity I wanted to find its meaning by reading along!
You continued again with an elegant style too
{A suppressed need for love and joy.
Hidden away, as it may seem.
The love will always linger, as it always has.
That feeling deep within our souls.
The feeling of wonder and a mysterious curiousity for all that is.
This world, for what it is, we may never fully understand.}
Cool,, buddie! You made my day with this..and the final part too,, you gave a striking conclusion to the whole of this by drawing our attention to our ignorance about the essence of beauty, love and peace!
{For as long as we are hidden in the darkness.
Never shall we reach our heightened awareness.
An awareness of everlasting love and peace.
Now how beautiful does that sound?

Overall, I must commend you for putting this piece together...I love it so much. Great work.
Best Regards....
Humphrey....signing out.
wow! this is nice... i enjoyed your work on it especially the good combination of words that pleases the heart.......a gloomy heart will surely get refreshed by this piece. I LOVE IT.....THUMBS UP.
Awesome poem! I like how it makes me feel like its a dream in a sense.
Hey iamwhoyouknow5,
I really enjoyed reading this. I know you didn't describe the author in anyway I just pictured someone sitting down on a wooden chair in an room staring threw a window that was slightly open with white silk curtain's blowing from the wind. I might have gotten this because the poem just sound relaxed- almost like a train of though. A very sophisticated train of thought. I loved the descriptive words you used and the feeling the poem gave off. It had a nice message.
I really liked the lines,
"We are the sun as it rises and the moon that glows at night.
We are the crisp air in winter and the rising waves of summer."
I just loved everything about it. I love it and I am not sure how to describe why I do, but I just love it.
Good job!
