HIGH SCHOOL: The Untold Story of MACKENZIE MACINTOSH!
PART ONE: Prologue
High school is the time in a teenager’s life that they can’t wait to get to when their 10 years old. But when they are actually there, they can’t wait to get out. The story you are about to read is about high school and the profound effects, good or bad, it can have on a person.
You know those small towns where everybody knows everything about everybody. The kind of town where you can’t keep anything secret because your mother has already gone to the grocery store or a where you always feel like you are being put under the microscope and picked apart; I live in one of those kinds of towns. It is called Buford, WY; and the population is 120 people. My name is Mackenzie Macintosh and for the past two and a half years I have called this place “home.” My dad was a colonel in the United States Army and we moved around a lot. But when my mom “died” five years ago, my dad lapsed into a very deep depression that made my brother’s and I worry about him. Two and half years ago, he moved us here to this small town hoping it would take the pain away. My dad, Daniel Macintosh, is the type of guy who holds all his pain inside himself because he sees it as a sign of weakness and God forbid a colonel in US Army shows weakness. My dad, a very brilliant man, very stubborn man, but there is one thing he has that I do envy; his strength and endurance to survive reality. That is something I was I had and it something I think my two brothers have inherited from him. My brother, Josh Macintosh, is the picture of the ideal jock, he is smart, strong, popular, and he pushes others to just like him. But he has one flaw; he is “batting for the other team,” and he refuses to show it because he believes society wants him to be straight. When I discovered this I told him that he should come clean and stop trying to be something that he is not. He would just say to me, “Mackenzie, I would love to do that but who is going to give a football scholarship to guy who is gay.” I wish he thought more of himself to be who he really is, but I guess I have to wait and let him realize this conclusion. Zack Macintosh, my other brother, he is a brain and also he is treated like “the-boy-next-door.” When he talks to someone, he makes you feel incredibly stupid. He never really fit in anywhere until we came to this town because he loved to flaunt his brains in front of everybody, which in turn made everyone hate him so very much. And since we have been here has developed one crush, Natasha Bellicose. But she is popular and he feels that if he told her how he felt she would laugh; also she has a crush on Josh and he doesn’t have the guts to tell her that he is gay.
My two brothers, Josh and Zack, may be twins but they are complete polar opposites. Finally there is my dad, who still hasn’t recovered from the “death” of my mom and the fact that her body was never found.
Chapter One
“Summer vacation is too short. It should be a lot longer,” I said to Jack Bellicose. He is kind of my best friend, but I think he has a secret crush on me. He is so stupid sometimes that he gets into trouble which then causes problems for everyone in town. He also acts before thinking things though.
“Mackenzie, guess what I did this summer?” says Jack.
I reply, “Um … I don’t know. Did you sit in the sun to make yourself dumber?”
“No, I went to Palm Beach with my parents and Natasha, where I met the most amazing girl ever,” says Jack.
Now he is trying to use some made-up girl to make me jealous, I say mockingly, “Ok I’ll play along with this charade, what was this “amazing” girls’ name?”
“Her name was Mikayla and I think I am in love with her,” replied Jack.
Natasha comes walking up us and says, “Jack, are you still talking about that girl? That story is quickly getting old and guess what nobody really cares.”
Natasha Bellicose, Jack’s older sister, is your typical hot, popular girl who loves it when people are worshipping the ground she walks on. But she is actually very intelligent but refuses to show her it because she cares about what other people would think of her. She is that girl in high school who all girls want to be like and all guys want to be with. Her best friend is Megerra Martin, president of Drama Club and future Oscar winner; those are her own words because everytime she walks in a room that is how she introduces herself. Meg is the only who isn’t self-centered and lacking self-esteem; she is just quirky but let’s face all actors are. And Natasha’s brother, Jack, maybe stupid but he is a technology wizard.
Jack’s phone rings and on the other end a girl’s voice says, “Hello Jack, did you tell them that I want to meet them?”
Jack says, “No Mikayla I did not. But I will right now,” he says to me and Natasha, “Hey guys Mikayla is coming here today and she wants to meet you all.” He walks away still talking on the phone.
“Oh look at Natasha hanging out with the nerds, maybe she found where she belongs,” says Josh Macintosh. Jack walks back to me and Natasha after talking to “Mikayla.”
“Why is he so mean to me? Doesn’t he see that I have the biggest crush on him? I mean he should realize that because we are the most popular people in school, we are prefect for each other,” says Natasha and then she walks away.
“Natasha!” yells Jack but she is too far away to hear him.
“Jack, what is the matter?” I asked him.
He responded, “My sister is in love with a man who won’t have the same feelings.”
“What are you talking about? Who are talking about?” I asked.
“Josh is the object of my sister’s eye and she doesn’t know that he is gay,” says Jack.
There is a long pause before I answer, “How did you find out that he is gay?”
“How could she not figure it out is my question?” asks Jack. He walks away and I try to decide if I should tell Natasha that Josh is gay. Before I can there is a loud BANG at the front entrance. The front door to the school has just been blown up and a girl walks through.
She says to everyone, “Hello Buford High! You have just been introduced to your worst nightmare!”
She told her “henchman” to take me, Natasha, Josh, Jack, Zack, and Megerra. I don’t remember much because I was unconscious for most of it. I learned about what happened from Natasha. Apparently, the girl revealed that her is Jaclynn Martin. Jaclynn Martin, Meg’s sister, is smart, selfish, and angry.
Chapter Two
Jaclynn took all of us to one of the science classrooms. She was very angry about something and for some reason she blamed us for it. Natasha was the first to wake up and she says, “What the heck! Who hit me on the he…” she stopped mid-sentence because of the person standing over her.
“Hello Natasha long time no see. Do you recognize this room? This is where you ruined my life by taking away the one man I loved. You ruined my life and now you will know how it feels.”
Nat replied, “Jaclynn what are you going to do to me? There is nothing you can do to me that I am going to care about?”
“No, what I am going to do to you is kill you. That would be the worse kind of torture. Everyone you care about will know the pain of what it feels like to lose everything that mattered to them,” said Jaclynn.
Now I know you may be a little confused, so let me explain why Jaclynn hates us so much while she continues her monologue.
Chapter Three-two years ago
It was about two years ago in Mr. Blackburn’s chemistry class. Natasha was sitting in back of the classroom with the rest of The Populars, Josh with the other jocks secretly fantasizing about Brad Pit, and Zack was sitting with the nerds up in the front trying to get the courage to ask Natasha out on a date.
In walked Jaclynn who said to Zack, “So what’s up best buddy of mine?”
Zack, not really paying attention said, “Oh my! She is so beautiful and I am so not that she would never go out with me. I wish she would see me as more than “the-boy-next-boy.””
“Zack I think you’re quite handsome and you know that the homecoming dance is coming up. And I was wondering if you wanted to go with me?” asked Jaclynn.
Zack, finally coming back to reality, responded, “Oh-uh, Jackie I really do like you, but I don’t have the same feelings for you as you do for me.”
Natasha had walked up to the front of the class to give Mr. Blackburn the classwork, she said, “Did I hear right? Jac”dork”lynn asked out Zack Macintosh and was turned down. Well, he may be a nerd, but he is also the twin brother of Joshie over here which means that he is handsome-by-association and out of your league.”
“What are you talking about? Zack is my best friend; he would never be that cruel to me. If he liked me he wouldn’t let anyone like you stop him from telling me how he felt,” said Jaclynn.
Natasha replied, “I can’t believe you are related to Meg, she would never be this naïve.”
Jaclynn, speaking to Zack, said, “Tell her that you wouldn’t let anyone dictate who you liked.”
There was a long pause before Zack spoke, he said, “Well Jackie you are half right, I wouldn’t let anyone tell me who I would and would not like. But as to me liking you, I say this as gently as possible; I may be your best friend…”
Natasha interrupts, “probably her only friend.”
Zack continues, after giving Natasha a stern look, “I do not have the same feelings for you as you have for me.”
Now there is an awkward silence that fills the entire room and Jaclynn looks around at the faces staring at her as she ran out with tears streaming down from her eyes.
Chapter Four-present day
So why does Jaclynn hate all of us? Well let’s start with the most obvious, Natasha. She is the most hated because of the horribly mean things she said. Zack is hated because he doesn’t share the same feelings as Jaclynn. Josh is hated because he is popular and well-liked, shallow way of thinking I know. Jack and I however are hated by association. Strangely enough, the only person she doesn’t hate is her sister, Megerra. She also hates Mr. Blackburn because he did nothing to stop Natasha’s bullying of her. Later on I learned that Mr. Blackburn was found dead in his home.
Meg wakes up and says, “Ok someone has got some explaining to do. I demand to know which one of you hit me on the head.”
“Well that would be me,” says the biggest, dumbest “henchman,” Donny. He is Meg’s ex-boyfriend who joined the Army and was supposedly killed while on action duty (KIA).
“Donny….what the hell are you doing here? The Army told me you were dead, why. How are you alive and why are working with my sister,” replied Meg.
“Obviously I am not dead Megerra,” said Donny, “And to answer your question of how am I alive, well that is classified information you don’t need to know. I mean did you actually think I cared about you, well I don’t…you mean nothing to me.”
“I don’t believe you! Why are you doing this?” asks Meg.
Jackie jumps into the conversation, “Oh poor Meg, loses her sister and the man that once loved her. So now we have done the reintroductions, let’s get on with the show shall we.”
“Jackie, what are talking about? You are a good person who was hurt by her friends,” said Meg.
“Stop it! Whatever you are about to say, I am not interested,” responded Jackie.
Meg continues, “Jackie for once in your life, you will shut up and listen to me. You are not the first person to be picked on by her peers. You can read about it in any book, watch any TV show about, or you just go watch all the John Hughes movies,” Jackie looks as if she is about to say something, “I told you to shut up. The only reason you hate us is because your feelings were hurt. Big deal like we all haven’t had our feelings hurt. You either need to decide if you are going to forgive and let it go or you can continue down this path and waste the rest of your life on this meaningless crap.”
As Meg continues to speak to her sister, the police are running the hallways trying to stop the situation from becoming worse than it is already and before someone gets killed.
Donny, being the big, dumb man he is says, “I am so bored now, *as he whips out a gun* “Jackie I believe it is time to end this now. She can’t be alive anymore, so say goodbye Megerra.”
“MEG! WATCH OUT!” yells Natasha. But her warning is a second too late because Meg has been shot by Donny. What happened next was so surreal that when I finally woke up to see Meg lying on the floor bleeding from the shoulder, Jack is chasing after someone and gets kicked flat on his butt, Zack and Josh are just sitting staring at each other asking “WHY?”, and Natasha is hovering over Meg trying to stop the blood. The cops are now rushing into the room just seconds after Donny and Jackie leave. I am still a little groggy and because of this the cops think that I was the hostage and my friends are blamed for the explosion and kidnapping.
Detective Mahoeny says, “Hey Mackenzie are you alright?”
I replied, “Where are you taking my friends?”
“They were the ones who blew up the school and kidnapped you,” said Mahoeny, “I think you should go home and get some rest, you have been through a terrible ordeal.”
“NO! They are being framed. I know it, I mean, I know I was unconscious for most of what happened, but they are my friends and I will prove their innocence if you are not going to do it!” I exclaimed whilst falling over.
Seeing your friends being carted off to prison is a sight I never want to see again. I wish that I knew how to help them and clear their names. I guess a good a place to start is to ask them who it was, “Jack will you create a distraction so I can talk to your sister?”
“Sure what kind…noisy and obnoxious or just to make them look the other way?” asks Jack.
“Just make them look the whole other way,” I said.
Jack goes charging after them and runs past the cops screaming, “BOMB! BOMB! THERE IS A BOMB IN THE SCHOOL AND IT IS GOING TO KILL US ALL!”
He goes out of my ear shot so I can’t tell when he will be back. “Natasha, who did this?” I asked her.
The driver climbs in the cab of the cruiser and as they drive away Nat yells out the window, “IT WAS JACLYNN MARTIN AND DONNY BURTON!”
I know it sounds crazy but I am the only one who can save their lives. I have to find Jackie and Donny and prove that they are the ones that did this and not my friends. Just as I am about to leave there is a knock on my door…”Who the heck would be here at this time of night.”
Person at the door says, “Hello Mackenzie, it is nice to see you after being gone for so long.”
“MOM! I thought you were dead?” I exclaimed.
Mrs. Macintosh says, “No I am not dead honey, but I am here to help you.”
PART TWO
“Mom, what are you doing here I thought you were dead?” I asked the lady at the front door.
The lady says, “No honey I am not dead, but I’m here to help you.” I haven’t seen you her in so long that at this point I am thinking to myself that all this is a dream. Why would she decide to show up now and want to help me? She had been absent from my life for so many years that I believed her to really be dead. My dad has lived without her for many years making us all believe that she was dead. “DAD! WHY THE HECK IS MY MOTHER STANDING HERE IN OUR LIVING ROOM?”
He responds, “Mackenzie I don’t know what you are talki…” he is stopped mid-sentence when he sees his “dead wife.” “What are you doing here? I thought you were going to stay away. We had a plan and you coming here now was not part of that plan, Lydia.”
“Daniel, I heard about what happened at the school and being a mother I was initially concerned for my children’s safety. Besides you may be my husband, but you don’t have a right to keep me away from my children,” Lydia said.
Dan replies, “Lydia, you are not supposed to be here for your safety and the safety of anyone who knows you.”
CHAPTER ONE
I didn’t what to see them fight so I left to go to the police station to find out who was framing my friends for the bombing at the school. Det. Mahoeny says, “if you won’t tell me who was responsible for this accident, then I will just have to lock all you up.”
Natasha says, “you can’t lock me up, I wouldn’t look good in those orange jumpsuits.”
“Natasha seriously, we are about to be put in jail and what you are worried about is the fact that you won’t look good in the orange jumpsuit?” asked Megerra.
Nat replies, “Well I wouldn’t look good. And I don’t think it is right that you, my best friend, make fun of me for it.”
“Hey! Look around, we are in jail. I think you need to change your priorities a little bit,” says Megerra.
This was the first time Natasha and Megerra have ever fought. I walk into the police station with a determined look on my face. Det. Mahoeny says, “Mackenzie, what are you doing here? I told you to tell go home and rest there is nothing you can do here.”
“Detective, you have the wrong people, my friends are innocent and you would know this if you did actual police work,” I told Det. Mahoeny. This was the first time I have ever said anything like that. It felt like it wasn’t me that said it I must have been possessed for that brief moment.
CHAPTER TWO
Mackenzie returns home to pack up necessary items she may need. “Mackenzie, where are you going darling?” asked Lydia.
“Mom no offense or anything but where I am going is none of your business,” I said.
Lydia says, “you don’t talk to me that way young lady. I am you mother.”
“A mother! When was the last time you were my mother, when I was a baby or did you just leave after I was born,” I begin to walk toward the front door, “You were never that when I needed you mom. You left me alone so much I believed you were gone and you know what you are not my mother!” As I walk out the door I see that my mom is beginning to tear up, but I cannot go back now.
Hurting my mom like that was necessary, but it was the hardest thing I have done in my life. I wish I hadn’t said those things now because I don’t know if I will ever see her again. “Hey Mack what’s up? Why are you packed up like this?” asked Jack.
I said, “Jack, it is none of your business. Just leave me alone.”
“Hey Mack! Don’t say that, you are my best friend. So whatever it is you’re going to do…count me in,” said Jack.
“No…Jack this is not your fight,” I tell him.
“Mack, I am your best friend and you can say all you want about why I shouldn’t help you, but you are my best friend and I love you,” says Jack. Before I can say a word Jack pulls me to him and kisses me. The kiss was the thing I never expected and since then I can’t get it out of my head. Jack was always me best friend and before he kissed me I considered him to be my only best friend. I hadn’t realized that maybe my feelings for him were much deeper than friendship. Besides a kiss can be a platonic thing even if it was filled with passion, can’t it; I never even knew he could kiss like that…Oh I am getting off track, what was I doing?
CHAPTER THREE
After our very passionate kiss Jack and I get on a bus to try and find Jackie Martin. I may have been unconscious for most of what happened, but I did hear one thing…Jackie said she was going to go to the one place that she felt safe…Fort Collins, CO.
“So do you want to talk about the kiss…about us? “ asked Jack.
I said, “Huh? What did you say?...Oh the kiss right…um…well what can I say, it was…nice.”
“Nice?” questioned Jack.
“Oh no nice was the wrong word…ok it was amazing, awesome, terrific, take your pick of an adjective,” I said.
“Well you answered the first part of my question,” said Jack, “So what about the second part, what about us? Are we still just friends?”
I responded, “Um, well I don’t know, you kind of threw me through a loop with the kiss so I’ll need time to think about my answer to that question.”
We finally pull into the bus terminal in Fort Collins and the minute we step off guess who we find…Jaclynn Martin and her goons. I was feeling pretty scared right at the moment, especially when Donny starts coming after me. I blink for just a second and instead of my life flashing by, I see Jack dishing out some really cool kung-fu moves. Next thing I know Donny and every goon is on the ground and Jackie is gone.
PART THREE
Jackie has escaped our grasp again and once again we have no idea where she is or what she is going to do. Jack kissed me and surprised me with his kung-Fu moves. Now, tensions are heating up back at the Buford Police Department. Josh says, “Hey Mahoeny why are we still in here. I am starving and I have missed Desperate Housewiveme
Zack replies, “Josh I didn’t know you watched that show. I thought only “desperate housewives” watched that show.”
“Hey Zack why don’t you just stop picking on your brother,” says Natasha now flirting with Josh, “I really like that show too, it’s just one more thing we have in common.”
Meg says, “Oh my god! I have never heard a more nauseating conversation. Please will you guys just shut up, I have terrible pain in my shoulder and your talking is getting on my last nerve.”
Back in Fort Collins…
Jack, Mackenzie, and a wounded Donny are also getting very testy. Jack says, “Hey Donny what’s Jackie’s plan? Did it include shooting Megerra in the shoulder?”
Donny replies, “Well if you must know that part was not her plan, it was mine.”
“What the hell are you talking about?” Mackenzie asks, after slapping his face, “Meg is the woman you love, how could you do that to her?”
“It was really easy all I had to do was pull the trigger. It is actually very funny, she believed me when I told her I loved her,” Donny jokingly says.
The cellphone in Donny’s pocket rings, Mackenzie answers, the voice on the phone says, “Hello Mackenzie Macintosh and Jack Bellicose, are you guys still trying to stop me.”
Mack says, “Jackie…what do you want? Why are you doing all these? Do you know that you are about to destroy your friends lives?”
Jackie responds, “You are such a cliché. You ask so many questions that I don’t even remember what I was going to say….oh yes now I remember, you can interrogate Donny all you want, but you will never get anything from him. You wanna know why; he was in Iraq, trained for many years to not divulge information. He ain’t talking!”
Jackie hangs up the phone and just as Mack is about to say something, an alarm starts going off like it is about to blow up, so she tosses the phone away and it self-destructs in mid-air. Jack says, “Mack give me that phone I might be able to put a trance on it.”
“Jack the phone is completely destroyed you won’t be able to get anything off of it,” says Mackenzie.
Donny groans, “Hey I’m hungry over here, can I please get something to eat,” there’s a buzzing in his jacket, “oh hey who is making that buzzing sound?”
Jack grabs the buzzing thingy out of his jacket and says, “Hey this looks like a homing device, now I will be able to get a location on Jackie.”
Chapter Two
Back at the Buford Police Department, Det. Mahoeny says to his deputy, “Have you found anything yet? I would really like to have cause for keeping these teenagers here besides the fact that I don’t like any of them.”
Deputy Black says, “No sir we have not found anything that connects any of these kids to the explosion at the school, maybe it is time to send them home.”
Det. Mahoeny, “Ssh! I have cause to keep them here, now find me something that connects them to this crime.”
“But sir did you ever think that maybe they were innocent in this whole thing, maybe we are being sent on a wild goose chase,” replies Deputy Black.
Mahoeny knees Black in the gut and says, “Don’t ever say anything to undermine my authority again, now get out of here and found me some concrete evidence.” In the holding cell the tensions are heating up as well, but now they know that the cops don’t have anything concrete or any evidence for that matter that connects them to the crime. Natasha is still being the major flirt with Josh, who is on the verge of tears, and Zack is looking very jealous. Meg is still in a lot of pain and the only sane one at the moment. Meg says, “Zack, why do you keep staring at Nat? Do you except her to see you when she is too busy making goggling eyes at Josh.”
“No! I just want her to be happy. But why is she in love with Josh, he is gay,” responds Zack.
Meg replies, “I know he is, but you just need to keep hope and it will all work out in the end. She will see how great of a guy you are and Josh will realize that he is pretending to be something that he is not.”
“Meg, how are you feeling? I mean are you okay, now that Donny is the bad guy,” says Zack.
“The military told me that he was killed in action. They said I would never see him again,” Meg responds with tears forming in her eyes, “He told me before he left that he loved me and he would come back to me. *pulls a ring on a chain from under her shirt* He gave me this ring saying that we would get married and live happily ever after, but now he says he doesn’t love me. I don’t buy that anyway but that doesn’t make the pain in my heart go away.”
Natasha turns around and says, “Hey Meg, what’s up why are you crying over a guy who doesn’t even love you….” She stops when she sees the ring hanging around her neck.
CHAPTER THREE
Jack and I are in a coffee shop/digital media shop to try and get a signal from the homing device that Donny had. “Jack you have to hurry up now, I suspect Donny will be getting uneasy and the chains won’t hold him for long,” I said.
Jack replies, “I got it, she is at DIA.”
“Ok that is great, but one question what the heck is DIA?” I asked.
Jack says surprisingly, “It is the Denver International Airport and it is about an hour away so we better get moving if we want to catch her.” They head back to the car and drive safely but quickly to the airport to stop Jackie.
Meanwhile back in Buford…
Mr. and Mrs. Macintosh are trying to figure a way to get their children and their friends out of trouble and get life back to the way it used to be. But what they don’t realize is that after everything that has happened, life is never going to be the same. At the police department in the holding cell everyone is getting the chance to write letters to family members but the only one who is taking this advantage is Zack Macintosh. I know right how old-fashioned writing letters, but Det. Mahoeny doesn’t believe in giving “criminals” their one phone call.
“Zack, you seem rather entranced in writing. What could you possibly have to say and to whom?” asks Natasha.
Zack shucks the papers under the pillow on the cot and responds, “I am just writing a letter to my parents because you know it looks like I won’t be getting out of here in a while.”
Natasha says, “Zack don’t think like that we will get out of here. And if we do get out I want you to know that I…”
Zack interrupts her and says, “Stop right there! Don’t say anything, I know you don’t love me and I know now you never will cause I am not Josh. And guess I never will be.”
Natasha has tears developing in her eyes and she punches Zack in the lip and says, “You son of a bitch! Why do you want to hurt me like this? I thought you loved me?”
“Oh great, let’s make this all about you. Everything is always about you; ever since I moved here you have been the center of attention but you know what I will not be one of your minions worshiping your every step,” says Zack.
Det. Mahoeny says, “Um…children I can leave you in here if you have some issues to work out, but if you don’t you are all free to go.”
“No I don’t want to stay here with this thing of a human being. I am getting out of here and I am never looking back,” says Natasha.
Meg replies, “Zack, why did you say those things? I thought you loved her. *she pauses waiting for an answer* If your goal was to turn her from you for the rest of your life you have succeeded.”
Well let’s get away from the depressing and go to Jack and myself in Colorado.
Jack, Donny tied up in the back of the car, and myself are arriving at the Denver International Airport. As we walk through the front entrance we are immediately hit with gunfire. “Why did you come after me? I am not going back to that town, I will go anywhere else except there,” says Jackie.
Jackie falls to the floor after one of the security guards hits her over the head and he says, “You know we don’t like it when people open fire on innocent people traveling for vacation. You just need to go to back to where you came from.”
I say to the guard, “Thanks! You saved us from having to chase her across the entire country and come so close to catching her then she escapes within seconds of our grasp.”
CHAPTER FOUR
We now have got Jackie and we are taking her back home to free my friends. Once we get back home everything will be done with and our lives will continue forward. But after everything that has happened how are we supposed to go on with our lives like normal. We are arriving at the Buford Police Department and I say to Det. Mahoeny, “Here Detective I found the person you should’ve been looking for. And now you can let my friends go.”
“I did let them go and I did do police work and found out that you were right,” says Det. Mahoeny.
I have a surprised look and say, “Oh…I’m sorry and I want to apologize for what I said to you earlier.”
Everything is back to normal but what do we do now? I learned from Josh that Zack told Natasha he didn’t love her and she said that she was going to walk out of his life forever. Meg is engaged to Donny and still madly in love with him; I totally believe that because the whole trip back home Donny wouldn’t shut up about Meg. Now I am going to fulfill a request my brother Zack made of me and I hope that Natasha will read this and understand that Zack really does love her:
Natasha, My Guardian Angel;
I can’t even to begin to say to you how much I love you—your smell, laughter, the way you do things. I do, more than anything, want to see you happily smiling and most of all standing beside me once again. I’ve hurt you so much and I am so very sorry for that pain.
Hope all is fine. It has been a very long time since we’ve seen each other, five years I think. I must let you know that the pain I’m feeling right now is more than what I can express to you in words.
You still have a place in my heart, I am assuring you that I have been very lonely ever since you said goodbye. Every day my love for you grows more. The more I love the more I pushing you away. I am here for you a new and changed man ready to give you everything I have in heart and soul to you. All I am asking you is for the opportunity to love you with all that I am now and all that I will be in the future.
I don’t want to continue living my life feeling empty and lonely anymore. I still remember that painful moment…..there were tears in your eyes, but you just walked away without turning back, and since that day, I NEVER stopped loving you.
Till now, I always asked myself, “Could this be real? Is she the one for me?” The answers to my questions are in your hands. I have faith in you and never will I give that up. Without your love, I’d be half a being. Maybe one day you will understand why I said those horrible things to you.
Now and forever, until the time is
Through….I love you.
Please come back
And rewrite our history.
Zackary Macintosh
Writing this story has brought up many feelings of anxiety, fear, and I think love. I feel anxious about what would happened if we ever encountered something like this again; fear of the future because we have no idea where we are to go with our lives after everything we have experienced. I think I feel love for Jack but because he was always seen as a friend I now have mixed emotions about our relationship’s future. But I guess that is high school right; we go through the sports games, harmful breakups, and the fear of flunking every course. Ok so that last one was just me; anyway, going on with your life after experiencing something like this is something that I don’t know how to do.
High school is a time in our lives for growing up and forgetting about all the people whoever bullied us because in the real world none of that matters. We have to learn to let the past stay in the past or we end up being those people at the 20 year high school reunion reminiscing about the “good old” days.

Why is this under short stories? o_O
"But when my mom “died” five years ago..." Why is 'died' in quote? Is it that he didn't believe she was dead or what?
There are too many names in the first chapter, and it gets really confusing. In fact, the whole story is full of names I couldn't keep track of!
Where did Jaclynn get a henchman?! It's not like a teenager could go online and order one.
The whole story's confusing.
At the beginning it seems they're all teens, but eventually they seem to be older.
How does a cop, as professional as he is, adamantly accuse several teenagers of bombing a school? A detective for that matter.
Look, the whole think is too long and I just couldn't finish it.
It doesn't really attract the interest of readers. Au contraire, it discourages people from reading on.

Thank you for your criticism...i will take sone of your notes into consideration
