Forgetting

Totally fictional, by the way. It just spilled out. I've pretty much given up on poetry since everything comes out so awful, but here's my first poem in a year or so. Cheers.
---

Today I realized
That I don't ever want to leave this town
And I don't ever want to forget
That time we kissed beneath the stars
Or the day you left me
Crying on the floor

Today I realized
That I don't care if it hurts
I don't ever want to forget
The day I skinned my knee so raw
It was bleeding for a month

I don't ever want to forget you
Even if it hurts so bad
I want to keep it raw
Even when it hurts
I don't ever want to lose
The memories that keep me up at night

I don't want to lose
The sound of your soul
Or the touch of your voice
When I'm all alone
Because
I will never forget
Even when it hurts so bad

When I read this I fell in love with it. It felt as if you were writing a poem for my life at the moment. I guess it's because I can relate so well to it that I like it so much. There isn't much else I can say except for such a large break this is amazing.

Keep Writing

Hey nice poem for such a long break. The flow was a bit bumpy but the message was clear. I have to disagree however. I do not believe that it is better to love and lose then to never have loved at all. But we can't change what has happened or try tofix the broken. Anyway great poem and keep it up!
