The stars rise and fall
The heavens scream
The blood boils
As my hands tremble upon your skin
As my mind wavers and my heart tethers upon the brink of despair
As the universe as a whole cries out praying for me to stop
And yet I cannot I will not for to stop would doom you as surely as if I were to continue
God save me tell me what to do
To save her is to kill her and to kill her is to save her
Give me the answer a sign tell me what’s right
Show me how to love her without her blood staining my hands
Guide me in protecting her without blood being shed
Take me instead I beg of you
Take me in her stead
Allow me to die so that she may yet live
Give me the strength to do what I must so that I may condemn myself to the deepest pits of hell so that she may ascend into your grasp within heavens keep
Turn me into the devil I must become to save her such pain and agony
Take away my humanity so that mercy can be given
Spare her pain and turn it upon me instead as her breath fades within my grasp
Let her be still within the grasp of peace while I be thrown into murder's cold embrace
Turn her eyes away spur them full of hatred instead of the radiance of understanding they portray
I pray of you save her do something anything but this
Save her without her blood staining my hands
I beg of you before her breath yet fades save her before it’s too late
As my hands tighten around her soft skin as her eyes close spare her from such a wretched fate
Quick quick before she goes
But as my hands tremble grasping her even tighter and as her eyes close and her breath fades away they come with their sticks and stones
As they come to her with their stones and sticks I finally feel her fade away
I feel the universe torn asunder as my own heart withers away with her last breath
God why are thou so cruel as to make me kill my heart my own love manifested into flesh and blood in order to spare her from such pain
Why must she have died in order to avoid such pain why could there not have been no other way
Why can I not even cry out her name as I walk away as they approach ready to desecrate her scared remains
Why can I not even shed a tear as the stones fall thudding dully against her once radiant flesh
Why was the only way to save her by stilling her breath by my own hand
No longer can I hold faith in such an empty plea
Gone is she and with her my humanity and faith
As the sun sets leaving but a shadow of all that once was and shall never be again

Hi there, Fell.

I am GeeLyria! I know this isn't a new piece, but I am reviewing it still.

So... if I would have heard this poem, instead of reading it, I wouldn't have understood why this piece has no likes and one comment, because you have a poet's gift. Your wording is really catchy, it's entertaining and it flows really well. Being honest, (I know this might sound silly) I think the problem with this piece is the appearance. A piece with no stanzas is like a skycrapper without windows (no light, no air), and this makes the reader lazy. And you know, that's a shame! ~ because you're a wonderful poet, and we wouldn't want them to miss your piece.

That's all I've got to say. Keep writing! :)

I really love it!! The way that it's written really grabbed me in the beginning. It's almost like the way that I write poems. It's really great! :)
