High School Realationships

PreviousNext

Are they even real? When a guy tells you "I love you". How can you tell that it's real? Certainly not from his tone of voice, or his facial expression. Sooner or later that love will fade and cause a riot. How would you know whether or not he is two timing you? How can he be your other half already, when he can't support himself economically. Have you ever thought neither can you? Before giving him your everything, determine whether or not you would like to spend the rest of you r life with that one person. If that person is willing to go that extra mile, out of love for you then they truly do love you. Love is something that everyone learns based off of experience. You must be careful of those that use you, just for your body. They don't truly love you if all they want is a physical relationship. Love is something that happens naturally, between two people. They care for one another, and hope for a better future together. When they are united they are one. That is what true love is.

This is perfect. And so sadly true. Being a girl in high school, I know how hard relationships are, especially with awkward teenage boys, who you're right, are only in it for the physical. And, the boys who aren't are too shy to talk to girls, which sucks. IT's all so complicated. And, you're absoulutly right - all relationships in high school are formed out of the want of a relationship, not through the want of another. Most relationships only last through senior year, and I know it's hard breaking up with someone, but it's so much easier finding someone new. I feel like that is a point you were trying to get at in this, but didn't - that you need to realize that high school is four years. That you shouldn't waste your time (and yourself) on someone that really doesn't care about you, when really, in four years, you will have left town, maybe even that state. You have a beautiful way with words. This is really well written. Well done!

I've got to agree with this. I'm currently not in a relationship, nor have been in any prior this moment, but I do agree that you shouldn't instantly give the whole of yourself to a person you're probably just infatuated (I'm sorry for the term I used. Feel free to correct me.) with because they seem "perfect", whatever your definition of the word is. I think the way you really would know if that person loves you is through part feeling and part thinking. I mean, you should be able to feel the other's love, but at the same time, you should be able to know whether or not it's right. Something like that.

While I mostly wanted to say my opinion on this matter, I thought that I might as well correct a few lines here and there. I hope you don't mind.

When a guy tells you "I love you". How can you tell that it's real?

It could've been merged to one sentence.

Certainly not from his tone of voice, or his facial expression.

"Or" should have been "nor".

How can he be your other half already, when he can't support himself economically.

The period should be swapped with a question mark.

Before giving him your everything, determine whether or not you would like to spend the rest of you r life with that one person.

It's just a minor typo of "your".

If that person is willing to go that extra mile, out of love for you then they truly do love you.

This one is a bit more personal than anything else. I think you could've put a comma after "love".

That's it from me. This is a nice piece!

I'm sorry I couldn't reply to your feedback earlier, but thank you so much ! I also agree with what you said. No one should give themselves up without knowing that it's true love or not. I would also like to thank you for correcting my mistakes, I really do appreciate it.

I couldn't agree more. It's hard to find people that understand this and even harder to find people that care. I'm in a relationship now that I do know for sure is love. People aren't looking at what matters anymore. They see how they look and what they get, but what do they feel? What are they giving? In twenty years is the guy who buys you nice shoes and comments cute things on your facebook page going to stay loyal and compassionate towards you? Probably not.

Thank you for leaving a review and you're right and that was what I was trying to express when I wrote this. I hope you relationship goes well! :)
