Most people spend their lives
Searching for where they belong
They don’t know when it’s right
And they can’t always tell when it’s wrong
No, I don’t know where I’m supposed to be
But at least I know that it’s not only me

So I’m taking it one step at a time
I’m looking ahead, no use looking behind
Remember the good times, and forget the bad
I don’t know if I’m happy but at least I’m not sad
This is my life and I’m gonna take it as it comes
And one day I know I’ll get my day in the sun

Most people spend their lives
Taking it too serious
They stick to the plans they’ve made
‘Cause they feel like they must
But they don’t know that life will blow it all away
Take it from me, that’s why I say

I’m taking it one step at a time
I’m looking ahead, no use looking behind
Remember the good times, and forget the bad
I don’t know if I’m happy but at least I’m not sad
This is my life and I’m gonna take it as it comes
And one day I know I’ll get my day in the sun

So don’t, don’t, don’t tell me what to do
‘Cause I don’t, don’t, don’t want to be you
Can I tell you something I found out?
No use drowning in your self doubt
If you only ever look behind
It will only make you lose your mind
If you walk in a line with your eyes on the prize
You’ll miss everything along the way
So just take life as it comes
‘Cause every dog has its day
Every dog has its day

So I’m taking it one step at a time
I’m looking ahead, no use looking behind
Remember the good times, and forget the bad
I don’t know if I’m happy but at least I’m not sad
This is my life and I’m gonna take it as it comes
And one day I know I’ll get my day in the sun
And one day I know I’ll get my day in the sun

The Lyrics
I thought this was a very wonderful positive song. However, one thing I didn't care too much because, with me, it brought negativity into the song where it didn't really need to be. The part where you put

So don’t, don’t, don’t tell me what to do
‘Cause I don’t, don’t, don’t want to be you

you're correct!

It just seemed out of place. The whole song seems to be about telling us to think in a positive way and not take things for granted (at least that's what I got out of it) and then when that part was thrown in..I was like "what the...?" It just annoyed me a little because no where, other than those two sentences, are you implying that someone is trying to tell you want to do or think..or trying to make you into them...it's only in those two lines. Maybe, I'm making a big deal abut nothing..lol

The song on youtube

The song on youtube wasn't that bad. I know you messed up like two or three times and I'm not sure if you messed up because you almost forgot the lyrics or if it was because you almost forgot a piano note..or a mixture of the two. The way you sung the chorus sounds very familiar but at the moment I can't figure out what song has a chorus sung like that. You should probably do a remix of the song and add a drum beat. I'm an aspiring musician myself, except I can't write music and my singing is horrible..lol. But I have recorded songs that had no drum beat and it can be kind of boring especially if the song is over 2 minutes. I'm sure you will do just fine doing a remix.

Good job though
Very good job
