Hey guys! This is my new version of the prologue, I have taken into account the reviews and have made a lot of modifications! Let me know what you think! I probably won't make a 3rd attempt and instead move onto chapter 1 but I will modify it in word. I haven't thought of a more alien like appearance so I will do that another time.
Enjoy!
Prologue
A figure sits in an expensive glass chair gazing at the
hologram of an island before him. He sits with one hand supporting his head as
he leans over in exhaustion while the other hand occasionally grabs at an
object on the hologram and moves it to another location. He sighs and taps the
hologram and it moulds into an alien-like animal, similar to a raptor. It is in
mid-strike and its eyes gaze at some invisible prey. He taps its long claws and
extends them another few inches. Then he proceeds to bringing the island back
up again and placing the creatures in multiple locations.
A swooping noise comes from behind; the glass doors open
quickly and a tall man walks in, a figure of authority.
“Not still hiding away in here Alistar? You know you can’t
just live on coffee and tic-gen?” the man says whilst walking down the
gradually descending ringed tiers of deserted consoles. His black, leather
shoes give a contrast to the ghostly blue of the glass stairs caused by the
holograms.
He laughs, “It would be a shame if my gamekeeper went, well,
mad before his grand show… Wouldn’t it?”
Alistar swivels his chair round to face the man who is now
standing in front of him, hands in the expensive pockets of his black jacket.
Alistar takes out a small, grey, cardboard box and bluntly replies, “It is
ready. Just some finishing touches need to be done.” He then takes a rectangular,
white object out of the box and pops it in his mouth; the expression on his
face immediately calms as he chews.
The dimly glowing hologram of the island slowly rotates
behind Alistar lighting up both their faces with a ghostly blue.
“When should we start broadcasting?” the man asks.
“Probably four days from now, maybe more?” replies Alistar.
The man smiles, “The fans are waiting. They will all know
the name of Alistar Holmes, youngest gamekeeper in history!”
Alistar smiles back with a wide grin, showing his pearl
white teeth, “That sounds really good, sir. Don’t worry; this will be the best
games yet.”
The man nods, “I will tell my people that you are ready,
they will organize the competitors and arrange your pay.” He then turns to walk
up the stairs, his shoes creating a slight clink against the glass steps. He
stops halfway up, pauses, and then motions with his hand for Alistar to follow.
Alistar gets up sleepily and he trots up the stairs leaving the doors to close
with a thud behind him and the room darkens as they leave, as if it were going
to sleep.
The hologram still spinning, spinning, spinning…

Hello! My name is Deifyance and I'll be doing a relatively brief review of this amazing piece of work!
I believe I made a comment on the last version; but, I still want to say how much I enjoy this story already. It is written very well with the perfect amount of description. It reads much like a movie script!
Again, the format is a little bothersome to me. I would recommend separating the dialog from the rest of the body. And, the spacing is a little strange. It could just be me though.
I still love the name you have chosen, and I still love the opening. I think you do a good job of setting things up already. We are able to figure out just a little of what's going on, but you're not shy in letting us know that we know nothing about whats happening. It's a well written cliffhanger and only the worst of us wouldn't continue on!
I'll leave it at this for now until I know more of the story.
I'm extremely excited about this story, so please continue!
Blessings!
Hey @Deifyance if you mean the spacing between lines I have no idea why it does that.
This is beautifully written! I really liked all the descriptive words, I'm a sucker for description.
From this sentence on "the man says whilst walking down the gradually descending ringed tiers of deserted consoles." you really paid attention to the description you were adding. However in that sentence, 'The' really needs to be capitalized.
I read it quickly, so I may have missed something, but after that point I also started to get slightly confused. Who's Alistar exactly, who is this man? What are these holograms of? I know it's just a prologue so I'll have to read the first chapter to hopefully find the answers to some of my questions!
