"Three twenty-nine, three twenty-nine, three twenty-nine." was the same thought that was cycling through my mind as I raced for the elevator. The keys to my office were now jangling in my hands along with all the folders I needed for this day's meeting with the President of Arata Tensai, which what I gathered from my research, meant New Horizon.
A big industrial and trading company in Japan, they were wanted and rarely gained company to obtain, and it was my, and along with my bosses, job today to secure the Eastern company. I wasn't to pumped up about it, especially since my boss had told me that if I didn't secure this crucial necessity then I would be "fed to the wolves" that was the unemployment office. But the alcohol that was somewhat left in my body from last night kept from a state of depression. The only other thing that would make me any more happier would be a disconnected signal with the companies president, but seeing as that was likely than someone meeting their doppelganger, this would mean that I was planned for a meeting today.
I almost didn't make it to the elevator, Micheal from accounting had stopped it before it could close. I promptly thanked Micheal and stepped into the elevator as it promptly closed behind, only leaving me with enough space for me to turn around. It was sweaty and tightly packed, as was any other business' elevators were at this time, I had to expect the unexpected. So I thought, at the worst moment I could of, that this would have all been avoided if I just took the stairs. The embarrassment, the person who would always slip in a joke concerning a can of tuna, and the horrible, no menacing abomination! that was the music that accompanied the whole situation(unless it was Mozart!).
It only took it a minute to make it to my floor though, which softened the maximum blow. But there was one thing I seemed to have forgotten though... There was just this one annoying thing that was like a scab in my Pallium. Then with this most awful of a reminder, a heard a screech come from across the room.
"Hello, how may help you on this fine sunny day?" She said as she stopped to listen to the unhappy customer's complaints, only stopping at times to say, "I'm very sorry to hear that."
Oh how I hated her, that wryly wench of a woman, who uses her looks to get were to where she goes. She would probably be handed all our jobs if she were to use her looks more efficiently than now. It was strange though, because no matter how much I hated her, I seemed the pity as much. She had nothing wrong with her life as much as I have heard from her around the break room in the morning, but for some unknown reason, I couldn't help but to feel sorry.
But as my anger and pity grew stronger, I was interrupted by the clock above my head, and I was again warned of my impending doom that would come from my meeting. So with nothing to lose and no time I made my way to my new office.
