Train went over the edge, Pg.2

It had taken me a few more minutes to get to work that day. I had never gone done into the kitchen the night before to get food, my friends and I had just made Hayne to retrieve more beers as fast as he could. Unfortunately he had been offered about three jobs, all of which he declined. So I drove by the nearest fast food restaurant and picked up an egg, bacon, and cheese biscuit with some orange juice. It didn't take long and I made it to work five minutes earlier than I usually did. I made my way out of my car and into the building.

The main floor was packed for some odd reason that I didn't know. There were all sorts of people of different ethnics shaking hands and doing traditional bows and whatever. The whole scene reminded me of a can of tuna: very packed in and not very good smelling at all. I tried to make my way through without bumping into somebody or drawing attention to myself, but unfortunately that was something not meant to be, and some odd looking Japanese man made his way over to me very slowly. When he finally reached to me he bowed and so did I. He said something to me in Japanese that I couldn't understand. I had to be as modest as I could, so I just shrugged and started to move on, but the man grabbed my shoulder and said, "I am sorry Mr. Coulane. I thought someone of your caliber would be able to understand my birth language." "No, I am sorry to disappoint you, but my job doesn't take me as far as other continents, and what do you mean by 'my caliber'"? I had said to the now confused man. "Well your CEO had sent me a message telling about your promotion to boss. Didn't you already know that?" The man had said to me. I was in total shock and confusion at the moment and I could barely utter a single word. I did after a moment or two that I was still needing to get on time for my job, so I decided to wrap up my conversation as fast as I could. "Well, I can tell you one thing. If another truly shocking thing happens to me, I might need to change my pants." At that note I knew I had made my way out of the crowd and had made a sticky note in my mind to never say that to anybody else in my life.

I was about to make my way up the stairs when Abigail Bergen, the front desk lady or something I can never remember, said, "Congratulations John!" I stopped in mid-step and turned around to face her. "Thanks Abigail. By the way, why wasn't I ever notified of my promotion?" I asked her. "What do you mean?" Abigail said, now that she was as confused as the Japanese man had been. In a slightly exaggerated and angry way I said back to her, "I mean why wasn't I notified about my own promotion!?" "Well you don't have to say it like that!" She had said back to me. "I'm sorry it's just I just figured out that I'm the new boss. So yeah you should get the point." She finally came to the realization of this and started filing through her computer. "I can't believe they never sent you the report. Next time I see them will be the last time they see anything!" Laurie said as she continued to search her computer. "Abigail calm down!" "Alright here it is, and I'll send it over to your room as fast as I can." I was about to ask Abigail what this thing was, but before I could the clock that hung above Abigail's head stroked 7:00 A.M. I had to hurry as fast as I could to get to my room before Porters (my arrogant son-of-a-I mean kind boss of mine) would find out that I was late. I turned and took one step before I realized something. "Hey Laurie, which room is mine?"
