Thank You For Leading Me On

My heart is young, naive,
And understands little.
It can only watch, silent,
And try to percieve the love
That rolls off others,
And hope it will someday be filled by it.
How could I know the depth of the world?

Your friendly words were warped,
Shaped into melodies within my heart,
And the yearning that grew in it
Broke past all the chains I'd put there.
How can I know the depths of this world?

You want friendship, my heart desires love,
And only longing for you does not fill it.
I do not blame you for finding another,
And the scar in my heart is not deep.
How can I know the depths of the world?

Now I cage my heart a little tighter,
Depriving it of freedom while I gain your friendship.
It cannot help but wonder when you will leave her,
As it still longs you to breathe my name upon my skin.
But I tell it to stay quiet.
I will learn from you how to love,
And when my heart is again ready, and your Other is gone,
I shall set it free.
For how could I know the depths of the world?
Thank you for leading me on.

I actually disagree with the first reviewer just a little bit, I got the whole feeling of unsureness and naivity through the whole thing, and it was really relateable to me. It showed your cautiousness into getting into this and how you're trying to be careful about not getting hurt, and yet it shows the capability of dealing with pain. Overall, I thought this was good, although I'm not sure how I feel about the way you repeat that one line.
Keep writing,

A subject dealt with by all people at one point, it was well written and origional for what it was.Although I kind of felt that you wern't sure how you felt about him not choosing you. You seem in so much pain yet you say "The scar in my heart is not deep." Thats really the only line I had an issue with.
