may this book you read
be a good one
may you remember
that in spite of sad
lines
or chapters that make you
want to use pages
as kindling
that you will find phrases
that make the pain
and pages of drudgery worthwhile
and may you find solace
in a happy ending

Your comment was posted, but it wasn’t long enough to count as a review. Reviews need about four complete sentences (at least 250 characters). Try writing another review that explains your thoughts in more detail — the author will appreciate it, and you’ll earn points for it.
this is really gooOOooOd
(welcome to yws)
Prepare for a short review because there isn't much to say! This is a lovely little piece which would be a beautiful addition at the front of a novel, you know, with fancy marbled paper and leather binding and all that.
It sends a personal, heart-felt message from the author to the reader, and rather than sounding sarcastic or like a message of "good luck reading this crap I wrote", as some forwards do, it sounds one hundred percent sincere. Though at times your splitting of sentences into lines felt a little off, this contributed to the intimate, unrehearsed feeling of the piece. My only nitpick is that there's sooo many books this poem doesn't apply to, given that so many have terribly sad endings. XD
Hi circadianrhythm, welcome to YWS!
This was a very good poem and I really liked the wording and how the lines were all the right length with none being too long or short. I though the ending made everything sound complete without cutting the poem off. I would out some punctuation in it, though. You don't need to have a comma every line or something like that. Maybe just put periods here and there where you feel a pause, so your readers know where each phrase starts and ends.
Other that that, I thought everything was perfect. I look forward to seeing more of your poetry!
I feel like poets are divided into two groups, those that think punctuation is a must, and those that use it only when it improves the piece. If it doesn't feel right to you, don't put it in. Excellent work by the way I look forward to seeing more in the future.
Great lines! This is eens like a blessing before I go on to read a book.
On to the review:
Umm...not much to say on this because it was quite short and I think you said what you wanted to quote well
But offcourse you should have used punctuation, because there were absolutely no such marks in this piece.
