me and the sky

It’s weird, this going out into the world
It’s weird, because you would think that leaving your family for the first time and being on your own, independent, without a safety net, would make you scared, nervous, or at least a little melancholy.

But I don’t feel that way.

I’m ready for the independence, ready to go, to fly, to see
What else is out there, for me
I’m ready for the big decisions, for the responsibility, for the new and unfamiliar territory that will need to be charted
Ready for the new worlds that will have to be settled, for the wild beasts that will have to be tamed
I’m ready to finally be me

Without any hindrance

Without any help from well wishing, smothering, wisdom filled family
Without any roadblocks from overprotective parents, from lack of opportunities, from the perception of being inexperienced
Without any doubt that I can be whoever I choose, whatever I want, wherever I can fly
Without any weight on these wings, without any chains around these feet
Knowing full well that if a storm is to come, I am strong enough to fly out of it, shake off the rain, and take to the skies once more
Knowing full well that that is the real me

No pretending

No hiding

No more

Just me, and my freedom, and my wings
Just me and the unknown
And the world
And the sky

this is awesome,

you make the world seem like a very exciting place to be. with out any boundries but the ones you place on yourself. the discription shows your joy at finally being on your own and the peace with it.

i truly enjoyed reading this.
awesome job.

seeing this tag and going "oh what's this? :)" then getting slapped in the face with shady's good grammar is the worst thing that's ever happened to me
