Recipe for a Good Life
To make a Good Life you will need:
Two cups of Body and two cups of Strength,
And three-fourth cups of kindness
(Not the artificial stuff).
Four cups of Heart and
A dash of powdered Brawn,
But not enough to overpower
Three cloves of Thoughtfulness
And a sprig of freshly picked Intellect.
A quarter-teaspoon of Sadness,
A half-cup of Bittersweet Memories
(Just enough to be able to taste it;
Not enough to make Life sink in the end)
And the zest of a Bad Situation
So you know there’s something there
(But not so much
As to lose the overall flavor).
A pinch or two of Love (A little goes a long way),
One big scoop of Music
(Or as much as is necessary to balance out the Sadness),
Three teaspoons of Wit or Sass
(To add a little spice),
Four tablespoons of humor
(For color and lightness)
And a whole cup of Good Times
(To make sure Life isn’t too hard
When it’s done baking).
Combine all and blend thoroughly,
Leaving no lumps in the mix,
And pour into a well-rounded cake pan.
Bake for as long as you can
At as high a temperature you can bear.
Let cool (just a little)
And ice with Soul and Passion,
Making sure to cover every area exposed.
Dust lightly with Good Looks and Charm
And serve while still warm with a side of Happiness
And a drizzle of Peace
For the best result.

Hi, victorianbeauty here to give you a review! I love pieces like this. They are full of meaning but are still light-hearted enough to really make you laugh. I read it to a friend of mine and she really enjoyed it.
Now, down to the review.
"And the zest of a Bad Situation
So you know there’s something there"
Here, I think that you need a comma in between Situation and So.
"Bake for as long as you can
At as high a temperature you can bear."
I think that it would sound better for you to add the word 'as' between 'temperature' and 'you'.
Great job and I look forward to reading more of your work!
Strange here, and I have a review for you.
Great idea, wonderful idea in fact. This is a good life motto for a person, and that's the best part of the poem. A guide to build the masterpiece. I did find one fault, though.
This isn't my idea of a good life. My recipe is Smile, Succeed, Love, and Passion. That simple for me. The whole recipe idea is amazing though. This seems more valuable than the Krabby Patty recipe. Fantastic all the way through. Great job
Overall, wonderful.
This is off the charts so no rate for you
Great job
Keep writing
Stay groovy my friend *Hair flips*
By the way, I hope to see more from you
Sweet.
This really put a smile on my face. It shows you don't have to think of life on such a large scale to realize the simple things needed. This was witty and well put together.
Life sounds delicious!
Wow.. This is just a comment.. But Wow... this is beautiful!! I am most certainly following you.
I loved this poem. I've never seen anything quite like it, and every ingredient in your recipe reads true. I like how you capitalized each ingredient so it stands out. I could see the metaphor between the cake and life, so I guess Forrest Gump knew what he was talking about when he said "life is a box of chocolates".

My only complaint is the parenthesis. I think the parenthesis were honestly a little annoying because it was a break in the rhythm of your poem. I understand why you put parenthesis, but maybe instead try adding punctuation and then dropping down a line? I don't know, maybe there just isn't any getting around that.
Other than that teeny tiny little nitpick, I adored this poem. I hope it ends up in the spotlight

Hey Cha!

Wow, a poem in the form of a recipe that too about life? Wonderful thought friend!
I like the way you made the most required needs for a beautiful life in the form of ingredients.
But, I have seen similar poems with the same concepts in magazines.
This is not to hurt your sentiments in any way, just wanted to inform you about this, being a fellow writer.
I hope you get it.
Anyways, a nice poem
And yes, it is a perfect recipe!
Keep writing!
Love,
Krish
Oh this is beautiful, absolutely beautiful and stunning and thoughtful. But probably add a bit more zest of bad situation and perhaps just dust it lightly with charm and natural beauty.
Good looks is good too, but I think natural beauty would hit the spot.
Still, a-m-a-z-I-n-g!

Amazing
. Although I think that you need more than three drops of thoughtfulness, a pinch of love, and a bit of Bad Situation zest.
