Beware the Witching Hour

E - Everyone
Beware the witching hour.
When the moon sits high atop the sky
And you linger in wake with a weary sigh
And you catch a dart from the corner of your eye
Beware the witching hour.
It's when the demons come out to play
And take the living as their prey
Stealing the souls but the bones will stay
Beware the witching hour.
When the clocks strike three and evil runs free
Darkness and shadows now to breathe
There is no escape, no way to flee
Beware the witching hour.
As the veil between worlds is drawn too thin
And devils will smile and invite themselves in
Close your eyes; don't look; don't let them win
Beware the witching hour.
Now go to sleep and do not stray
Or else when the demons come out to play
There will be nothing left but to hope and pray
And wish to have listened when I told you today:
Beware the witching hour.

Wow! this is incredible! I love the tension that is built, and how it simply leaves you at the end with a single sentence. It really pulls you in, and the paragraphs fit together well. Keep up the good work!

An amazing price of poetry, spooky and mysterious I like it. It flows really well and I love the way it rhymes, it makes it sound quite sinister.

" As the veil between worlds is drawn too thin
And devils will smile and invite themselves in
Close your eyes; don't look; don't let them win "

I love this, it is a supernatural piece of course but they way this is worded could also represent our inner demons coming out when we are alone at night. You may not have intended this but well done if you did.

Simply fantastic.

Whoa, that was good! It kind of had an edge of mystery, and creepiness, to it which was awesome because whenever I hear the term "witching hour" I kind of think of exactly what this poem describes. And I especially liked the ending:

Now go to sleep and do not stray
Or else when the demons come out to play
There will be nothing left but to hope and pray
And wish to have listened when I told you today:
Beware the witching hour.

It fit perfectly.

Overall, a very haunting piece. The way the words flowed together was really cool. :)

Hey there! Sushi here to review this poem!
I really liked this poem, it felt sinister but in a kind of jokey way and I really loved your rhyming pattern, it made it feel magical and storybookish. I also liked the title and how it repeats throughout the poem; basically overall this was great! I only really have one nitpick and it is a small one! I think this poem would make more sense with commas at the end of each line to separate each phrase.
Very nice poem!

I really, really like this.
Not here to criticize, or nitpick.
I'm just here to tell you that you did a wonderful job on this.
You're pretty skilled. :3
Good job!
Thank you for sharing this with us.

This is a very nice chant, however I think it has been mis-categorized. These seem more like lyrics to me, but this is just an opinion. The repetition works well, I can just image a coven of witches chanting this and raising pitch and volume each repetition!
I think the line "and you catch a dart from the corner of your eye" to be slightly flawed, as at first I thought it mean a (poison) dart. Perhaps change it a little?
Hope This Helps,
Take That You Fiend!
