Now then, lets go through my newly formed Zolen Poetry Check List of things that should probably be commented on tm
Emotion:
It feels depressing and hopeful at the same time.
How hard are those emotions thrown at the reader:
Moderently!
Closing and opening premise:
A solid opening that seems to say outright what it wants to do, which fits with this poem.
Hm, it closes but I don't know I feel like it is missing a zing that the rest of the poem has.
Perhaps the commas are breaking it up, a bit too much which is messing with the flow.
Goal: Lyrical, Narrative
I don't think I can sing this, but I think I can say these lines pretty dramatically. So sort of kind of!
I am sure there is more, but that is all I can offer without going overboard, I hope I helped. Have Fun.
Howdy hey, Bubbly bubbles, I'm June,
You have a very, very good command of rhyme here, and I'm impressed. Your lines seem to come along for the ride, rather than investing their own strained effort to come along in most places. However, I'm a little bit disappointed in the lack of a consistent rhyme scheme... I got into a two-two-one-two pattern for the first four lines and then you switched to a two-two and from there, they kind of stayed twos with the odd unrhyming line thrown in.

it has a great meaning behind it.
I love the part where its like
"On this ship, there is love to hide.
People hiding from those who lied.
This is a ship with ropes thrown bout,
With people tripping and people to shout."
because it shows how life is a mess sometimes.
And at last it says how we have to carry on.
Love it!
This is fantastic! My favorite lines were:
I think I will quote that for a while. This might be my favorite poem. Word wise, I think your poem is perfect. Other than that, I think you might want to check your spelling. " ...wont...". But this a great poem and I can visualize it perfectly. Bravo! I applaud you noisily.
"But, this ride is not impossible,
You can finish it if you are logical.
No, it wont be easy, it'll cause you strife.
But then again, so does life."
I think this shows a very important message: Life is hard, but love can be found in the midst of the wreckage. I love the way you describe life as a ship and how it's "all torn and gray". This poem explains life perfectly and I like how you added that rare and happy bit of life called love. The mood is a little scatter brained and I like that because "then again, so is life."
~ Racket
I am just reading these. I have not been able to get on in a while. Thankyou soo much xD
Brilliant description and metaphor. I really liked the love to hide/those who lied couplet. And I agree that there are a couple unnecessary commas (maybe some could be dashes, if you're just going for a dramatic pause Ex:"This ride -- it never seems to end") but, for the most part, I enjoyed it a lot. The topic was unique and well thought-out, and the lines flowed smoothly. Again, love the language and symbols. Really nice poem(:
I love it! I really like how you used the imagery (particularly on the waves and the ship's scenery "with ropes thrown bout\With people tripping, and people to shout.) One question about the scenery: do you mean "gray-green waves" instead of "gay-green waves"? Because I didn't think you were trying to describe any happiness here...
The rhyme scheme is pretty cool, and it works for the most part, making the poem flow very smoothly. There are a few slant rhymes that didn't quite work in my opinion, including the pair
"On this ship, there is love that hides.
People hiding from those who find."
Perhaps you could work on that?
And there's a few commas you can eliminate in the poem, which the line "This is a ride, that seems never to end." would probably flow better without one. I am not really sure, but you can think about it.
And finally, I really like the concept of your poem! How I interpreted it was that the ship is on a journey of life, kind of like a metaphor to what we go through on a daily basis, with people sharing your joy, sorrow, and things that happen which stitch up together to form the melody called "life". If it is not correct, can you please tell me what do you have in mind while writing this piece? Thanks!
hahaha yes. i guess it didnt save the last edited version. sorry bout tht!! ill submot the edited version again. but thanks
