Betrayed

PreviousNext
You drew me in with your serpent tongue,
Dripping with saccharine sweet lies.
You Infected my soul with your venom,
And I believed in your poison.
But your love was just a charade,
And I’m the one left writhing in pain.
Childish games of deceit shattered my bruised heart.
I thought you were my escape,
But all you did was lead me astray.
Hit and run and hit and run,
The cycle of broken promises spun out of control
Until my love lay in shards of glass at my feet.
I slice my wrist with your name on my lips,
As my soul escapes from your curse.
I write your name in blood
And damn your hate to hell.
But even my spells can’t douse the fire.
Though my heart is forever maimed,
It still longs deep down for your touch,
The feeling of your breath on my skin.
I gash my wrist with a shadow of my soul,
And watch the crimson rivers flow,
Whispering over my mind, “You were betrayed.”
