Many years pass by like swallows in the sky
As fast as the winds that glide; they fly
Now what may come is but a walking tour
A lifeless shadow of what, once, was more

Yet in the hub of this appalled cosmos, lay books
A countenance so inviting; such jolly looks!
Words of ink with the visages of dimples
A loving invitation to the mansion of temples!

Yes, this is the charming lifter of coffins
A time machine, crafted by no boffins!
Merely cut trees is what some will see
The voyage to Hades, they will not see

These books are filled with glimpses of truth
They will lose you from this world of fools
Its grief, pain, and seclusion no doubt is bright
But a bizarre joy it gives; a company of delight!

Beautiful! I must say, your usage of metaphors and similes gives your writing a feel of wonder. You're quite the impeccable writer!
