Storm

PreviousNext
Whoosh
The wind's at play.
Crack
The windows shake.
Bang
The door slams shut.

The thunder rumbles,
The earth shakes.

Light draining from the sky,
As well as hope and peace of mind.

The rain falls with no end,
'Til a little boy sings

"The Sun'll Come Out Tomorrow"

The earth stopped and listened,
It seemed,
Then all was calm.

Hello there. My name is Scarlett and I'll be reviewing your poem this morning.

First off, I like how this is short and simple. I like the tiny smidgen of imagery I get here, but that's not quite enough, is it? You do do a lot more with this poem, I'm certain. There is more to a storm then what you've got here, and I'm sure you could expand on that. Despite that, though, and despite how short it is, I like this.

I like how you describe the wind and how the thunder makes windows shake, and how doors slam with the wind. I like how you say the earth rumbles, despite know it's really just the thunder. I like how you describe the world going dark as the clouds pass over (not that you actually say that, but still, something to think about!). And I like how you say it ruins hope as well as peace of mind, which is rather true-- for some people.

And I really, really like how the rain doesn't seem to end, yet this little boy is like "the sun will came out tomorrow" in the face of the entire storm. And I like how the earth seems to listen, how the storm seems calm. And you could really expand on this. Where's the rest of the story? You've given us a tiny window into this world, but we can't see much, can we? Where is the rest? Where's all the wrath of nature that we know and love? It's not really there.

So, expand on this, give me more, and let me know. I'll come back and give it a proper review for you!

Overall, I really, really love the imagery I'm getting from this, despite the shortness and lack of it. It's lovely, and I like what you've done with it! You have a wonderfully beautiful, very interesting, if short, poem here. And I just have to say thank you for the beautiful work! I do like it, and I am going to click like!

Remember; Keep it up and never stop writing!

Nice! It's plain and simple in a creative way!

I was like singing a song while reading your poem, and you did a good art in there!
