This is an idea I'm playing with. Not really sure where it's going to go just yet. I have the general plot worked out in my head, but God only knows if I'll ever get around to acting on it. This prologue is the main character after the story has taken place, so it's not really meant to make much sense until later on. It just sets the tone I'm going for. Anyway, tell me what you think ![]()
Prologue
I am not a good person. If you really knew me, you would see that. But you never knew me, not really. You were too busy being charming to conquer that mountain. Congrats, dear, I opened my heart up for the first time. But hey, at least you know now that I'm not that easily broken.
I am a user. I use and abuse until there’s nothing left. You didn’t know that, did you? Nobody knows until I’m done. But you used me too, darling, and you were worse. You had no guilt, no conscience. Who do you think you are anyway? Do you think you’re infallible, or perfect? You’re not. You’re an ugly, broken shell of a man.
I am a trickster. I manipulate my way in, and fake my way out. Don’t get me wrong; I adore it. But what you do is so much worse. You’re sick about it, honey.
I am an enigma. The real me, that is. I can’t even figure myself out. You? You’re simple. You walk the walk; you talk the talk; you play the game like a regular pro. But there’s nothing underneath that handsome face of yours, sweetheart, nothing but greed. You love yourself enough for the both of us. So what do you do this for?
I am not a good person, but at least I’m not you.

Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening/Night(whichever one it is in your part of the world),
Hi! I'm here to leave a quick review!!
Anyway let's get right to it,
Well this is quite the opening here, especially for a prologue. Its not too often that we see our attention being grabbed in quite this way here, and I think you do a really neat job of immediately making us wonder what is going on with this particular line of thinking as it seems we've got into the mind of someone who tends to be a bit on the more evil side of the equation or at least they seem to believe themselves so and almost take some sort of pride in it, which certainly makes matters very interesting. And yet it also seems to point to that person they are referring to also being a bit on the more evil side of things so we have a very interesting pattern right here.
Okayy...well that is quite the ending. I honestly don't know with that where this piece is really trying to go here, because this does not read like a typical ending right there. It seems almost standalone as opposed to a prologue, and just the message there of how this person believes themselves to be so horrible but then ends with the declaration that this other one is far worse. Well it certainly is very intriguing here because it does leave you wondering what could possibly happen next.
Aaaaand that's it for this one.
As always remember to take what you think was helpful and forget the rest.

haha i love this line. the whole thing was pretty good but you could spice it up a bit with some metaphors or similes to make it interest the reader more. can't wait to see where you are going with this
