Black in My Blood

Black in my Veins

I’m a coward with black in my blood
Yellow in my veins
And my heart as still a sky blue
Clear color swirls in me like a crazy whirl
It shushes my heart
And stops my breathing

I see them in my eyes
Dark brown rattles in the dirt
I can see them in my skin, slightly spotted
I see them on TV and on the
sidewalk
In front of my eyes and the world
Can’t see me

I'm not a big fan for this kind of poetry, but the title caught my attention since I like dark poetry. It's an interesting piece, and my opinion is that you used the colors as symbols for feelings.

Black - Evilness, grief, death.
Yellow - Decay, sickness, jealous, and cowardice.
Sky blue - As you said a calming (still) color, although you used it in the negative way.

I like the inner rhymes of 'swirls' and 'whirl' I don't know if it was intentional but it sounded good. Although the swirling of this "emotions or colors" causes you to panic, therefore the lines "It shushes my heart
And stops my breathing"

The second stanza seems to concentrate more on "Dark brown spots" appearing for you everywhere you see. I'm not sure I understand that but my guess after googling what the color brown meant I ended up by understanding it meant retreating from the world. So by this spots slowly appearing everywhere you might have meant that you are slowly drifting into a mysterious void not knowing who can see you or not. Or if you are still even in reality. Thus, the use of the last two verses.

This is my first review in a while, I hope this helps.

Hey :)
I liked this, the ending line was fantastic! It doesn't bother me that im not really sure what its about because the color's are vivid enough to keep my mind occupied while reading. Theres not much else I can say, good job
