I was just standing there,
Feeling the suns heat,
Then I saw you,
And my heart skipped a beat.
I fell asleep that night,
Little did I know,
That about you,
My dreams would take flight.
They played that special moment,
Again and again,
I don’t want to wake up,
I don’t want it to end.
And when it does end,
I’ll think of it often,
That one special moment,
Made my heart soften.
I love you,
I hope you know,
I’ve tried so hard,
To let it show.
We were just standing there,
Feeling the suns heat,
And then you kissed me,
And my heart skipped a beat.

Yeah this was really good. I don't know what it's supposed to sound like (you never do unless the author reads it) but it played out like a little rap in my head too. It was really good. I loved the words you use and your ryhme and rhythm are great. Yes, I love your poetry. It is so sensitve for an average guy. I'm not saying you're average, I'm just saying not many guys write like that... it's a shame really how guys a raised to hide their emotions. Sorry, just kind of went off on a rant there. I'm done now.
Great poem!
tthanks Liz
Whoa... I haven't read a poem like this in a long time.... Usually I gather a rhythem and turn it into a bit of a rap and this was so in the flow....
Man... this was a beautiful poem.
Did you write it about anybody? Shoot, lucky girl or something.
I really liked it.
For once the short lines were put to good use!
