My first poetry post in a long time. This was basically a stream-of-consciousness journal entry that I wrote recently and then expanded and honed a bit.
Title: to find and try nothingness
From the tortured soul of damned dreams past
Comes a scream of wrath, lust, rage, burn fast
Seclusion delusion all hope expired
Has such a life ironic ever transpired?
Stoking occasional flame
Of past glory days gone by and soft fair dames
That flee from my monstrosity
And know not of our shared virginity
These days I look inside all there is waste
Outside molten windows decay demon’s laughter that I dissect with passion’s malefic hostile ray of hate
Such is life
Trouble and strife
The blind newborn’s promise of sunrise and the bloody razor stroke of sunset
With the dying’s grasp I plea to my silver crucifix, won’t turn about to face the vapid truth I try to forget
(Again I stick my spinning North’s needle into infinity’s countenance-
Only to be oriented insane inane in mirror’s glance)
The revelation of the sun and stars and moon’s cold dark blue existence mocking time
Rejects my mind, in that absurd reflection of that cosmic mime, I am a crime
Glory in vain, love in vain, worship in vain, meaning is vain, all in vain, none in vain-in vain
I never was not am nor will ever be again
Am I?
Nothing, nihil divine
PS: Hello, Fellow Young Writers! It's GREAT to be back here again. I used to get on here a lot from 2004-06, at first under the user name Silent Aviator. I was sort of an asshole back then, and if anyone still remembers, I apologize.
Anyways, enough sentimentality. As far as the poem goes, criticism is welcome and much appreciated.
