Wow! I wish I could paint like this! It's really great. The colors you used are different, I like it. I also like the concept of the whole thing. The life and death theme and the use of the clock was clever. This is the first piece of art I've looked at on here and I was not disappointed at all. Great job. Keep up the good work!

Wow. You MADE that? At first, when I saw it, I though you had taken a picture of yourself (or someone else) and added a filter of some sort! The detail of it is amazing, and I am especially impressed with the way you were able to make the hair so realistic. Did you take a picture of yourself and then paint it? It looks too good to be done just by a mind-image. The way you played with different colors really surprised me. I was amazed how realistic it looked, even when the colors weren't. But the colors of the subject, versus those of the background give a nice contrast of the warm and the cold, life and death. Really good job!
Yes, I took a picture of myself and painted it. But no tracing of course.

This is my first time reviewing on a work concerning art, so here we go!
The girl is magnificent! Her face-- each skilful dash of the colour gave me the impression of smooth and unblemished skin. The way you have painted her as to portray the lighting is breath-taking. It is both beautiful and creepy.
I like how I am immediately attracted to the eyes. Their unique colour and damning detail draw one's attention immediately to them. For some reason, this made me think of what it would be like to stare death in the eyes. The gaze the girl in painting is piercing and powerful.
The details of the hair are magnificent, and the blue-black colours blend in harmony. Again, it is a marvellous emphasis of lighting.
I love how the clock hands are all at different numbers. It gives one the impression of time as it ticks by and flows out the window....
Anyways, I think you have successfully delivered the theme of Life and Death! This work is both stunning and creepy, telling a thousand words without actually saying anything. Ah, the wonders of art.

To me it looks like you (I was going to say she but then I remembered that it's a self portrait) are just listening to clock tick away. You're listening to your life tick away. Because life is so short and let's face it, death is creepy. So yes, I agree with RavenLord that this creepy. But it's beautiful too.

The shadow and the way she looks at whoever's looking at the painting just freaks me out, but in a good way.
