inspired by David Bowie

by Willard

A/N: Written and posted before the death of David Bowie.

I wrote her eulogy in Nadsat

to show I still have a sense of humor.
It's an appy polly loggy for leaving her
on a bed under fluorescent lights
where I told her I'll piss on her carnations
that she didn't deserve. It is a special flower
reserved for Virgin Mary.

Filmdrome moments in a theater alone,
we talk about current political issues.
"No matter how different we are,
we can get along together. I understand you,
you understand me".
Good thing she was a socialist
while I leaned towards capitalism.

I told her I'll piss on the carnations,
but maybe I should realize
that actions speak louder than words.

Hey Will! I'm here to review this today. Or, well, I'm gonna try but it might just end up as me flailing around because you're a great poet. <3

This makes me very sad while reading, and I'm not sure why. I really like the imagery here, and the talk of pissing on flowers amuses me, oddly enough. XD (I recognise this as a TWT entry. >.> Shhhh!) Uh, so. Where was I? Oh, yeah. Seriously, I don't think I'm meant to laugh but I really can't get that image out my head now. XD I'm terrible, I know.

Also. David Bowie. <3 RIP.

Ahem. Enough rambling from me, I think. I agree with Pamp. I'm not sure there's even any suggestions to make here. It's good as is. It flows well and even rhymes a little. Overall, it's a nice poem. You did good, Will. <3

Remember; keep it up and never stop writing!

~ Scarli.

This poem put me in tears when I originally read it, which was before David Bowie died. Now that he has passed, it puts me in tears for more than one reason. Not only is it a beautifully constructed and deep poem, it also reminds us of the inspirational man that we have recently lost.

It also makes me realize the fact that I cannot write poetry.

RIP David Bowie...

...and RIP my emotions.

I would say there are things that you might want to change, but that would be lying. This poem is amazing just the way it is, and changing it would only hurt it.

Keep poeting, Willard. Even if it does mess with my emotions a lot.

It's a good poem.

But what a title. ;-;

Willard says...

It was horrible timing. I don't want people to think I named this after him because he died, since I wrote and titled it on Friday. Life is confusing.

What a time for this to be trending

I know, right?
When I woke up to the news, I just said "Well, my poem might be more popular than before".
