If I

Suicide and Compromise,
everything I refuse to hide,
is showing...on your beautiful face.

Lovers lost,
the new holocaust.
Something tells me I can't go on;
without you.
Gliding on this fate.

And if I say I'm sorry, will it change a thing?
If I say I'll love you forever, would you take away this pain?
If we pinkie promise each other, that this will never change,
can we stay together forever? Or will we scatter like the rain?

Lollipops and rainbow drops,
people shopping at the shops.
Just people, not like you and me.

Starry skies and lullabies,
open up those gorgeous eyes,
and tell me, what you really see.

And if I say I miss you, would you open up your arms?
Take me in and keep me safe, except for that self inflicted harm.
If we stay away from each other, could that be the charm?
That pulls us closer together, acting like this love was never far.

Ross- Thank you[:..You were quite right. It was more of an Alternative/Indie piece for me, I can't stand mainstream music. Well, just rap. But anyways, I was thinking more along the lines of Owl City, but not so...optimistic. Thanks again.[:

Auteur- The random line made me think of the contrast of lollipops and rainbow drops, opposed to suicide and losing lover's. I thought it would seem like you could see the whole story of a love life, instead of one set of emotions. If that makes sense..hah..Thank you though for taking the time to read it. [:

JaceClayton- Thank you very much. [: I really appriciate it.

can we stay together forever? Or will we scatter like the rain? I really like these three verses. <3 them. Especially the first two sentences of the first stanza.

Lollipops and rainbow drops,
people shopping at the shops.
Just people, not like you and me. Okay as for this...it feels kind of random. Like, you just want to use up some space. It doesn't really relate to anything at all.

Starry skies and lullabies,
open up those gorgeous eyes,
and tell me, what you really see.

And if I say I miss you, would you open up your arms?
Take me in and keep me safe, except for that self inflicted harm. It doesn't really fit well, this sentence...
If we stay away from each other, could that be the charm?
That pulls us closer together, acting like this love was never far. Nice song, anyway XD

This is quite a beautiful, but sad set of lyrics.

I'm feeling that this is more of a Broadway-styled piece, though. I'm feeling maybe Rent's "Rent" and The Wizard of Oz's "Over the Rainbow", with a bit of Wicked's "For Good" spiced in for melodrama.

But in mainstream music, I don't really seeing it having a home, unless you're seeking something like alternative. And for some reason, this just strikes me as indie, if you're going for that goal. Mouchette's "Cruel" is strikingly similar and very beautiful, check it out.

Overall, the topic is wonderful. The verses and the choruses are distorted, not exactly the same. But I can see a common thread. But for other listeners, it may just not work.

GRADE: B
