Clutching At Straws

Clutching at straws,

All crushed in my fingers;

Sorry honey.

They’re all broken now

And they bled;

I didn’t mean to.

Hold on to me,

Hold on to me,

So we can drown together.

Absolutely nothing left

We loved and lost;

Next time

Address the issue.

You’re holding on to me,

You’re holding on to me,

And as we fall

Together.

Like clutching at straws,

I hear your call

You held onto me;

You held onto me.

Wow! This poem really resonates me for some reason, it actually reminds me of a relationship of mine. It's very easy to imagine, and actually gave me some chills. I really love the lines where you say, "Hold onto me,/Hold onto me,", "You're holding on to me,/You're holding on to me," and "You held onto me;/You held onto me." They're very beautiful and really show how the poem's lovers fall apart overtime.
There are a couple things I think you could tweak in terms of phrasing, especially at the beginning. I think that, "Sorry honey." could be cut altogether, because it's easy to tell what the point of the poem is even without it, and it just doesn't seem to fit there. Otherwise, just read through the poem again. There are a couple words that you could cut here and there, just to make the poem flow more easily.
Thank you so much for writing, I really enjoyed reading this! See you 'round!

Wow this poem holds a powerful punch that made me feel the emotions that could be held behind the words. I am know to write very emotion filled poems, and this is a great poem. It brings it point across that one may not want to live without the other, or will do everything in their power to get rid of them. This is a powerful poem. I enjoyed reading this poem, and I will most definitely look into your other works.

Aww thank you.
And cute Avvie btw. ;)

Your very much welcome.

And thank you! It's my friends (Not going to name names or anything) book characters.

Aw.......this is just.......aw......I've said this before that everybody interprets poetry differently nowadays, and I'm always a bit self conscious in telling my interpretation, but this time I think I might actually be right.( A miracle and a shocker if there ever was one XD) I can relate to this poem- because in all honesty, the things we try to hold onto, the things that are dearest to us- with our constricting grip we can break them, we can shatter what we love and leave ourselves empty. (And at this I am thinking of a personal experience but I won't go into that right now for the sake of EVERYONE ^ ^) "Address the Issue"(typo in that line by the way, "Adress" is misspelled.) is a great line, I must say- because it hits home. The people I've had issues with are those that never want to address that there may even be a problem THERE. Excellent portrayal ^ ^And I will apologize in advance if my interpretation is wrong o.o.......because it might be.......and if so I will feel sooooooo stupid o.o..........

Love,

Thank you for taking the time to review. It was lovely.
And no, your interpretation is not wrong.
There is no such thing as a wrong interpretation. XD

Sorry XD My reviews are just as scatterbrained as m thought process ^ ^

Well I am just like that too!
No problems. ^.^ XD

I JUST REALIZED THERE WAS A TYPO IN MY LAST COMMENT AND THERE'S NO EDIT OPTION SO I CAN FIX IT!!! NYOOOOOOOOOOO ><

My spelling is wobbly. It's good spelling, but it wobbles, and the letters get in the wrong places.
